Non obese related type. Can it be caused by medications etc? What are the typical signs?
I am suddenly very very hot natured, sweat like crazy, weight fluctuating almost 10 pounds down to lowest in 20 years then back up, Like retaining too much water or something. ( I wear same size pants for 30 years), feel weak as shite, trouble sleeping, (that’s typical) decreased appetite but thirsty all the time.
Going to doctor Tuesday but trying to be prepared

It's certainly possible. You're body can stop producing insulin at any point.

Damn man, hang in there and this is your wake up call to get healthy.

I was diagnosed when I was forty. I’m pretty fat

For type 2 the body becomes insulin resistant.

For the dumbass that initially downvoted me:
quote:This is from Healthline
In 1996, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Lipitor for the purpose of lowering cholesterol. Following its release, scientists found that more people who are on statin therapy are diagnosed with type 2 diabetes compared to people who are not on statin therapy.
In 2012, the FDA revised safety information for the popular statin drug class. They added to the warning information that a “small increased risk” of high blood sugar levels and type 2 diabetes has been reported in individuals who use statins. In their warning, however, the FDA acknowledged that they believe the positive benefits to a person’s heart and cardiovascular health outweigh the slightly increased risk of diabetes. They also added that people on statins would need to work more closely with their doctors to monitor blood sugar levels.
I happily accept all future downvotes.

Feels like Man 0 pause. Maybe just old age catching up with me but WTF

Sounds like it could possibly be a thyroid issue.
Intermittent fasting can help with insulin resistance for whatever that's worth.

Stop any processed sugar in your diet and cut out just about all carbs except those from green vegetables.

It can be a sign of aging. Your body does not produce the insulin it once did when you were younger.

If its not related to your weight(fat mass) its not type 2 diabetes. You should go see another doc

This isn’t accurate.
Although, the majority of people with T2D is considered overweight, it’s also attributed to age. I’ve seen plenty people with T2D who have an average BMI.

Why even try to be alive if you have to eat that? Lol

I aways forget which one is related to body fat. I have a 14% body fat reading which should rule out that relationship.
