It says one of the side effects "might" be weight gain.

I've never eaten this much food in my life since I started taking this. Holy Lord, is it going to be this bad as long as I'm on it?

I avoided lunch today but doubled up on supper....just woke up starving at 3 am. WTF?

I take 300 mg three times per day. I have gained 15 pounds but I don't think the pills did it. I only weighed 145 and I started eating lots of peanut butter sandwiches and a little ice cream at night because I wanted to gain weight. The pills made me drunk the first two days but the side effects dissipated on day three. I am pleased with how well it works and I will take it as long as I need to.

Yeah, I started on 300 mgs once a day but that wasn't cutting it. So I started doing 300 mg in the morning after I got to work because I was afraid to take 300 mg and drive(300 mg knocks my butt in the dirt).

I've not had any night terrors but have had some very vivid dreams since starting it.

Worst thing so far is starving all the time. It seems I'm craving real food, damn taters and gravy kinda food. Hopefully this passes.

15 years now.

Drink lots of water to try to stay full. The food cravings will go down but the weight gain is a struggle.

Take 300mg twice a day for my feet pain for standing for 12 hours at work.

Never had any issues with increased eating.

It does help me sleep through the night if I take one around bedtime. Deep sleep too.

I took it for 4 years or so and have had a lot of bad side effects both during and after getting off . I would recommend getting off of it unless you can’t function without it.

No but I've been on very high dosages of prednisone which does a very similar side effect. At peak steroid dosage about 3 years ago I was eating over 5,000 calories a day and still hungry. It definitely affected my sleep too.

Oof. I was taking 60mg of prednisone at one point. Gained 10lb a month for 6 months. Now down to 3mg and ive lost 45 of whar I gained. Hoping to be off it completely in the next year.

Best of luck! My peak dosage was 160mg. I developed a sort of full body autoimmune disorder from my stem cell transplant. I still have to use them periodically but not nearly the levels as before.

just curious but what requires taking a high dose of a daily prednisone for that long?

wife did for severe back pain. she had a really hard time with it. took it for around 3 years and was 105lb when she started. first 2 years did not see any weight gain at all then suddenly in about 6 months shot up to 145lb and pretty heavy depression and anxiety hit her which she never had before. They added some antidepressant stuff to it then but it was not helping the back pain at all anyways so she started to get off of it and that took a good 6 months with heavy withdrawl symptoms. She had a really terrible time with it but finally got completely off of it and physical therapy finally got rid of the back pain. Back down to 115lbs but she still has some of the mental issues the meds were causing. Not the depression part but still has some anxiety so she is still on something for that which I hate but she is slowly taking less and less of that. At about the 1.5 year point now of getting off of the neurontin so it has been a bit of a long road just in getting off it.

I saw all that to say be very careful with the stuff. Some folks have no issue with it but others can get hit really hard by the side effects and getting off of it can be a long painful process.
