Yep. My dad opted out , but my mother and I use it to annoy the hell out of my sister.

One with just siblings & another that includes mom.

Depending on my level of alcohol intake, this could be a bit dicey. We used to do the same, but after one off-color comment in the chat that I thought was siblings only, I learned to "start" a new chat and specifically select my siblings only. Textra will just add it to the ongoing group, but it helps me avoid that oversight again.

Based on your comments over the last week, fatherhood is going to be a rude awakening for you.

Because I don't like group texts? They sure as hell didn't put that in the parenting handbook

ETA: If you knew my sister you'd understand

No, of course not, but there is little doubt that fatherhood will loosen your stance on many of the things you swore you'd never do or like, and I figured I'd drop a little knowledge on you this morning.

My family isn't shitty, just annoying as hell. I keep my distance as much as possible.

Siblings, yes. Sons, yes. Parents are deceased but they would not be texting if alive. Our family shares lots of our experiences, recipes, pics of projects and family news since some of us are 400 to 1200 miles from the core group who stayed near their birthplace. It all works for us!

I have 4 ongoing group text going. Well actually 5 but the 4th will end after the summer.

1= My group of friends from college and their SOs.
2= Started as a fantasy football group but is really just a bunch of friends from highschool and a few others that we all have a lot of the same interest we discuss.
3= one with my brother and mom and dad for any need to know family info.
4= going on a boat trip to the BVIs this summer. All 9 of us that are going are in one to discuss trip and all.
5= a group that has a TON of family in it. The one rule is only me or my wife are allowed to post in it. All we post are photos and videos and updates of our now 7 month old. It's actually a GREAT way to keep the ones you care about updated without having to through it all over Facebook and Instagram.
They can be a little annoying at times. But I have been in 3 of them for years now. So I'm used to them. A couple are run through groupme and a couple are just the normal text message app.

Solid advice right here folks.

I have some retired folks in my family tree who have sent me pedestrian texts at like 4:00 am on a weekday because they are up and don't think about the consequences.

Let's just say they don't do it again.

If I get a text at 4:00 am, a hospital, a car wreck or a jail better be involved.

Have one with my brothers and father for the sole reason of football discussion.

No. There is nothing I hate more than getting 42 replies saying "Have a good day", "Thanks" UR Sweet", "Are you going to the bbq Friday"......

Women over 40 (and Moms in general) ruin any attempts at Group text because they have to reply each and every time to everyone
