If you are out racing bikes all Saturday during college football season, gay. If it is Sunday during NFL, not gay.

I called the police department of the town the next day to see if they could tell me who it was on the interstate or matched my description of the guy - and they said they didn’t have any officers on the interstate the day before and not any of their officers matched that description.

So you didn't actually ride in a car and you didn't actually go to the hospital in a different vehicle than your husband? Maybe it wasn't actually a cop, but you just thought it was. Or maybe it was an off duty cop that the department didn't know about?

First, I can't believe this was 15 years ago. Second, Contador was a dick for that (depending on who you ask) but the universe righted itself and gave Andy the win back

yes, i did ride in the front seat of a police car holding my son

yes I did, see above

it could’ve been - that’s why I started my post with ‘not sure if it counts’ - it’s just weird that a voice told me what to do and a cop appeared out of nowhere

I still have the discharge papers from the hospital - so the incident happened.

TBH I don’t care if you believe the story or not. There are details I’m leaving out because I like to stay anonymous.

I guess similarish.

When I was a kid my bed was close to my TV, which was one of the really old heavy boxy TVs with a glass screen.

I was laying with my head at the foot of my bed looking up. Something told me that the TV could fall on my head and kill me and I felt an urge to get up right then. As soon as I did my TV fell right where my head was about 5 seconds prior.

Yep, when I was young and dumb, went out day drinking one Saturday. Came home to sleep it off. My drunk roomie, who stayed out all night drinking came home in the middle of the night, started cooking something on the burner, then passed out. I woke up when I dreamt some lady was standing over me shaking me awake. I opened my bedroom door and the entire place was filled with smoke. Went to go put out the fire, and passed back out.

Didn't doubt your story. It definitely qualifies as one of these moments, but the part that qualifies was what caused you to do what you did. The other part of your story sort of leads to make readers think that the officer was this mysterious third person, which is clearly not the case. Likely the department was just incorrect on whereabouts of their people or the policeman was off duty. Either way, I think you had a great story all around to add to this thread.
I've had some near death experiences, but no experiences fitting of this thread.

they're on a wing and a prayer at this point. ZERO teams in this year's tDF used campy

aint nobody got time for that shite. yes i constantly fricked around with it to keep it happy; why should i have to do that? only for it to fail at one of the most critical points for me.

i took my bike to the dealer the SAME DAY as the race and had him swap it for Ultegra and that's been 10 years ago and haven't had so much as a mis-shift since.

frick campy

that’s why I said I’m not sure if the story counts - I’ve said that several times

I think it’s somewhat of a miracle that the cop was even there or that he stopped when my husband flashed the lights - we had pulled over on the shoulder of I-10 - and then after he brought us to the hospital, he was gone

So maybe not third man syndrome but pretty close to it - maybe a third man sent him to be at the place where we needed him at the moment we needed him

IDK, surfing at Sabastian Inlet. I had no business being in the water (young dumb) 20 years old.

Everything happened very quickly. Got caught in a rip current.... I was being pulled down the beach towards the inlet when I realized I was in trouble.

I then flashed back to little me around 6 or 7 years old, flipping through channels & stopping at a National Geographic or similar show about rip currents. The info was not to swim against the current but diagonally out of the current.

I'm not sure if I ever thought about that show or info again being I grew up in a Louisiana small town but there it was years later & it saved me from being taken out into the Atlantic. I got out of the water kissed my infant daughter & gave my board away that day!

It's crazy even now as I think about it. A few second pause to watch some info on TV & then continue to go through all 13 channels looking for something to watch. Yet that info got branded in my brain somehow.

Car wreck. Flipped. While in the air a voice says, "this is gonna hurt."

They weren't wrong

To the point where when flipped into the air again I distrinctly remember responding out loud, "yeah that hurt"

But the next 5 or 6 flips happened ao fast I couldn't count them.

Another car wreck I distinctly remember putting the car in park and climbing out the driver door. One problem... Both the steering wheel and front seat were pinned against the rear seat. All i know is I was standing there on the side of the road when the cops showed up.
