I have a good friend who flies 300-400k per year. He will be in Singapore one day, Moscow the next, London the next and then Bejing. He was doing that for a year in economy as it was a new job. He finally told them he was flying business or I'm not flying

My wife travels enough that I haven't paid for a flight in 8 years. We've flown to Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Key West a few times, Mexico a few times, just booked Maui for April. It's a win win, I only have to put up with her part time and I get to travel for free.

I fly once a quarter now and only fly AA for the direct. Still prefer DL

Related question. Which industries, or certain positions within certain corporations, call for tons of air travel?
I'm a business systems analyst and typically fly a little over 100k miles per year. Usually it's for on site training and support for SAP integrations or other SAP related enhancement workshops.

No, South Bend, IN. My company used to have a factory here that I started at and worked my way up. When the offshored it to Mexico they kept me on working from home. That's been about 3 years ago. Samsung bought my company about 2 years ago, so I'm in Seoul once a quarter or so, plus periodic travel to China, Hungary, Mexico, and a few other countries my subsidiary operates in.

They treat me square. I would like to bitch about the occasional 55 hour weeks and whatnot, but I really can't complain. I'm blessed beyond what I deserve.

I sued to fly all the time, domestic and international. A lot of years I hit 250k - 300k but I was based out of Iowa and was regularly (like every 6 weeks or more) in India, London, Dubai, and Riyadh.
I was sucking the life out of me. There was a 15 day period I went around the globe twice. I am so glad to almost never travel now.
The hard part was yes you had a lot of miles, status, etc and I could fly anywhere I wanted free but the last thing I wanted to do on vacation was travel.

I could never do that. I don't like new people enough to fly constantly.

MSY -> IAH Monday and Friday every week for Jan - March, June-July, & Oct-Dec on United.
I’ve accumulated probably 100k physical miles but with rewards and bonuses, I have 600k+ miles. The credit card makes a significant difference.
Public accounting.

100k would take about 3 years with that schedule right? Actual flight miles would take about twice as long.

I had a brief stint at a passenger carrier. I couldn’t travel in the back for 100k+/year. Too many damn people and the process to get to your seat, would drive me crazy.

I know an old baw that has worked on rigs in South America for like 20 years. He has a shite ton of miles and never spends them.
