What are the up front costs? What's the monthly income like per machine? What maintenance is required?

No but I heard the best way to get people to use it is by calling it an ATM Machine. Go that extra mile for em.

Non-bank ATMs in New Orleans are controlled by organized crime. Fact.

i do know someone.

I thought he said it was a few grand to get started. he had the tech knowledge from prior jobs.

most frustrating part to him, that i'm aware of, is having to go out and place the machines at events all the time.

store locations have minimal usage.

festivals\fairs, he says makes it all worth it.

Most every good location will be locked down and under contract. I know two guys who are big players in this industry. Both have organized crime ties and that's not an exaggeration. One just got off of RICO charges a few weeks back.

Is it 1998?

Who uses an ATM away from their bank?

Just go to any store, buy some gum, and get cash back.

I have a good friend that works for a big ATM company. He places them, maintains them, etc.

I've asked him about it and he said it'd take roughly $10-15k or so to get one started (depending on the location), and they can make anywhere from a couple hundred bucks to a couple thousand per month (again depending on location).

eh.. ran low on drinking money in Champion's Square. The $2-3 didn't seem like a big deal.

I have 5 of them in my stores. Cost is $2500 upfront for a machine, $400 for a cage to bolt it in ground so it can't be stolen then $19/mo for opt connect per machine so you can have a solid connection. I check my stats all the time on paireports and I make between $500-1200/mo per machine depending on location. I charge alot $3.50 so possibly deters people, I don't know, it makes me great side income, no complaints. I bought all my machines at once 6 years ago when I broke off the contract with the company in place. I haven't had issues with the machines since.

Also unless you're putting them at businesses you own, you better plan on $20-25K in cash monthly per machine bc thats what they use,for me owning the stores they're in, and being able to monitor how much is left in the machine, I never leave more than $4-5k in the machine and just fill them with cash from the safe when they run low.

My "bank account" is a money market account. I use whatever ATM I want because I get reimbursed for all ATM transaction fees.

I forgot to mention, before I knew what these machines made, I had a contract with a local company where they supplied the machine + the cash and came once a month and gave me $150/month per location. I didn't mind it was money for nothing, I also have a company who does the same thing for air machines and vacuums at my stores. The air machine company pays me $50/mo per store for that and the vacuums. So you could easily go find places that need an ATM,air machine, and vacuum and roll a bundle together for 1 low monthly payment and skim off the top bc most owners literally do not know or care about either of those things.

LINK

The ATM + Air/vacuum/water machines would cost you say $5k per location and you could pay stores $200/mo for the total and pocket all that comes in like $500+ ATM and whatever the air/vacuum makes lets say $150/mo so $450/month net or $5k/year on a $5k per location investment, not too shabby.

DBF, as a store owner whats the pitch that would work for you? You are talking compressed air for tires I'm assuming? So I'd assume the pitch would be they bring business? I guess you could find gas stations that don't have them.

As said by others, I'd have to assume all the A and B locations currently are taken. So you are fighting for the new locations and the sub prime locations so your margins will be a lot tighter.

Do you have any ice machines DBF? I run one for a non-profit I'm involved in and it sucks but we just moved it. I'm curious if others do better.

I have 2 good friends who got in the business. The machines aren't too expensive, but you have to always keep the stocked with roughly $5000. That is the expensive part. And they did make decent money off them while still working day jobs. I want to say they split $20-$25k a year.

When a transaction is made, the money plus fees is back in your account within 24 hours.

The hardest part is finding a place to put them. Most places already have ATMs. And ones that don't, well that is probably for good reason. They don't make money.
