You used Laf as an example of someone who worked hard and earned his way out of a shirt starting point. I argued it was more his dna than work ethic and you now are saying so what....great

Don’t you have to pay taxes still? Doesn’t work as a sub group of America’s economy lol

There are plenty of better economic systems than the one implemented in the USA or anywhere in the world at this time, Only problem is that there are no better systems that can put up with our morals and ethics.
If you look solely from an economic perspective the third Reich was much more efficient than modern day America. If you don't work you die is something that no one is going to rightfully say today.

Well if land wasn’t printly owned we could just produce what we needed individually there or have a family farm. At some point the land you own, was not owned and was taken. Someone got it for free and profited from it. Mostly being that the United Stats got the land for free and charged for it.

We need more capitalism in our economy. It is by far the most moral of the economic systems.

We had unregulated capitalism up until 1930. Employer abuse was rampant and there was no social safety net during crises.

In those 154 years there were 7 "depression" level economic crises. This does not count recessions as both eras had relatively the same business cycle of recessions.

From 1929 to today, there has only been 1 depression level economic crisis.

Gov't has a role in managing our economy. The problem is people tend to want to expand that role in ways that hurt more than help

Which is what? A bunch of people who employ others and decide what that’s jobs worth is? The market could easily be interchangeable with the elites....could it not

How so? I’m very interested in how you’re gonna price his work ethic had more of an impact on him being a professional athlete than his genetics

If we did, we wouldn't be sharing it on a message board. We'd actually be writing books, giving lectures, and advocating in the public about it.

This doesn't happen.

You ever taken an econ class? Not a knock, but I think some basic economics might help you.

Your wages are set according to the labor market. If they can replace you with someone less expensive, they probably will. If they have to pay more to get your particular expertise, they will.

This reminds of the South Park where the hippies all talk about how evil capitalism is, but when Stan presses them for what the system should be, they basically come up with capitalism

you mean like communism? that is the whole basis for it, the problem is when you take away incentive to work hard because you have the ability to increase your standing, then you have to replace that incentive with something else usually a fear, fear of being imprisoned, fear of dying, fear of your entire family being killed in some instances. Basically it turns into spanking you for not doing something rather than rewarding you for doing something.
