Drug test for Welfare
“We can lift our citizens from welfare, from dependence to independence, and from poverty to prosperity,” Trump said in his State of the Union address last week, the latest signal that Republicans want “welfare reform” this year.

We need more capitalism in our economy. It is by far the most moral of the economic systems.

Are you high? Seriously?
Just point out a single country that doesn't have wealth disparity... big wealth disparity.
The countries with most most wealth distribution tend to be the absolute shithole countries. No one has anything. Wealth is created. This is why there is disparity. Nothing more.

This fricking fixes nothing. This will save us a little money in the horrible economic system we use already.

Well when you have 3 economic models you don't really get a lot of examples. I think we need to rethink the way we live life all together. The wealth is created already lol, the 1% just hold most of it.

Are you on the marijuana or mushrooms? Or on some medication?
This is some off-the-wall stupid shite of a thread and you don't come across as the type to start this kinda shite.
On Topic because it's Friday for me and I'm frickin off... Socialism could work in an idealistic society.
People write off idealism so quickly but then they continue to believe in marriage.
Socialism is better but it fails/turns to communism.
Better in theory? yes.? Feasible in the real world? no.

I not looking for modifications to the present model, I'm wanting to know if anyone has thought of another economic model. We admittedly have millions in our country who are poor. Yes some are POS and others are just not smart. We give up 40+ hours a week to someone else, creating income for them. Some earn their wealth, while others waste the wealth earned for them. What type of system would be a more fair society? Do we even want a more fair society?
Troll level 6/10.

I think the stock market is the cause of our woes, or at least the growing profits every year as fast and as much as you can part of it.

So we can agree that human greed and choice ruins all three economic models yes? Therefore we need a new one. If we are getting more intelligent and advancing, why are we still using models that have a hierarchy

So if we removed this what do you predict would be different?

and how would this work? how would this change anything? If you look closely you'd know the elites already own bitcoin.
The Blockchain = / Bitcoin.
Decentralization of the Blockchain being a key component so that control by a select few at the very top is no longer allowed.
The first step of the process needs to be to tear down the current financial system ran by The Central Banks that enslaves sovereign nations and it's citizens with a debt based financial system.
Link to the SEC OT where this is somewhat already being discussed.
How you do that and what system replaces it is impossible to say at this point.
You started this thread -- What is your idea?

Who would control the blockchain/ how does this work? Like let the blockchain be our bankers? how would this be possible with the power needed to mine?
I don't have the solution to that equation, just the final desired output.

If we just eliminate government licensing, replace all income taxes with sales taxes, nix the minimum wage, and end all entitlement programs, you would be shocked just how well everything would work itself out.

The marriage non-sequitur aside, your point that socialism and communism are idealistic and ultimately non-workable (downright murderous in application), is correct.
However, the topic of “socialism” deserves to be explored and more precisely defined.
The truth is that we do not live in a completely capitalist system. The government does many things (too many to count!) to manipulate the economy. These interventions designed to stimulate economic activity in certain ways for various purposes. There are consequences, both intentional and unintentional, to each of those interventions.
But for our discussion here, we should acknowledge that the government uses many social programs and policies which could be defined as socialist in nature. They include, welfare, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, affirmative action, SSI, SSD, Earned Income Tax Credit, minority set asides, graduated tax brackets, tax breaks for charitable
giving, etc. etc.
I don’t think that these programs can be construed as defining our system as “Socialist” with a capital S, but they are certainly “socialistic”.

post this on the poli board. they have all the answers
capitalism isn't perfect but it's the best system we have come up with. we are far from a true capitalist society.
Under capitalism wealth is created and transferred by producing and consuming. most other systems it is transferred at the end of a gun.

No, not "greed" and "choice". Human nature and rational human behavior. Ultimately, our nature is to protect our own. Economic systems with a focus on morality or fairness disregard how rational humans behave on a daily basis, to the systems detriment.

There will always be degrees of hierarchy b/c we are not all of equal economic/physical/mental worth. Intelligence, motivation, competitive spirit are all elements of human nature. it's a fools errand to attempt to eliminate or suppress those natural feelings in an effort to achieve equality/morality/whatever.

Stop worrying about the rules you don't like and play the damn game to win with the rules at hand. Its really that simple.
What is this "rigged for the wealthy" crap anyway?
Literally anyone can become wealthy in the USA. Go to a shite public school system that gets you into a shite 4 year college, and get great grades at that shite 4 year college. Then use those grades to get you into a good graduate school.
Boom, $200k+ a year salary.
There's literally no other country in the world you can do this with such ease, and there's never been a time in history where its easier for a dirt poor person to become top 10%.
So stop complaining and play the damn game.

So why not take this away or reduce it by reducing the size of federal government and let the leaders of cities and states, who live among the people they represent, represent them and make decisions for them. What's the point of the federal government. We might as well just be the EU.......
