I have worked outside my whole life, and I have found that I sweat more when I wear boxer briefs (gym kind). Loose boxers are the best because they let your shite breathe. It's science

Deodorant on the taint works wonders for me, been doing it for 3 weeks no problems. I think I got the idea from someone on here.

On a similar subject, using conditioner on my upper legs have helped prevent chaffing.

I have a bunch of the ExOfficio boxer briefs and they are amazing. The wife accidentally bought me the wrong style, the boxer style. 10000 x's better IMO, you get moisture wicking and they breathe.

I like a slightly larger than my size boxer brief, but I agree with you about the breathing. I love dri-fit/under armour shirts, but compression underwear just squishes my nards and sweat runs down your leg.
This stuff is pretty good for keeping things fresh, but it might be too tingly for the crack.
