My office has one, it's incredibly light, so it's almost impossible to use when it's windy out.

Do you mean a Multi-Roter aircraft? Or an Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle that is used by the military?

I have a Phantom 3. I've wrecked it several times but its very easy to fly. Self leveling and very responsive so it's easy to handle if you take it slow.

unless you drop some cash on one it'll be impossible to fly when it's windy. fun investment though. does get old after a month or two.

I routinely fly mine in 15mph winds and the camera is as still as if it was on the ground.

I've taken some really nice aerial photos/flyovers of buddies' properties and enjoy it a lot. It's pretty insane how cool the city looks from 1500'

Are you refering to a true drone or a quad copter?
A true drone has GPS integrated and can handle winds and pretty much anything else you throw at it. However, like any other aircraft when those systems don't work it comes down to the pilot.
If you want to learn, get one of the small quad copters like an Estes or similar. Hurts less to crash a $30 quad than it does a $1,300 drone.
Once you've mastered the copter, the drone is easy.

I'm not sure how easy they are to fly, but I had a guy drive up my driveway one morning asking if he could look around for his drone on our property. He took it out the evening before for the maiden flight and lost it in front of all of his friends.
I felt bad, but I chuckled a little.

I got one several months ago (DJI Phantom 3 Professional). It's awesome. Took about 10 minutes to get the hang of the controls, nothing to it. It's idiot proof, as I've proven.
