I’ve never been and thought this might be a fun weekend. Kinda expensive but the music looks great. Anyone have experience with the festival?

Blackpot Festival & Cookoff is excited to be in our 13th year! A celebration of the music, food and culture of Southwest Louisiana and beyond! We hope you join us for another very special year!

Have you been to a camping festival in the last couple decades. It's cheap as hell. The only Louisiana festival I like more was T-Bois. And I'm pretty sure that hasn't happened in the last few years.

I haven't been in a few years, after I moved to Colorado. But I'm back in the gulf coast, and am going again.

Does anyone know what's the new location compared to the old one? How close the campground is to the stages? Do you have to go through security every time you go back to your camp?

Blackpot was really cool when it was at Acadian Village. I've heard it's not as good now that it was moved to Vermillionville. I plan on going this year for the first time since changing locations.

T-Bois is definitely better. They just announced it's coming back next year.

It was the shite. I hear the camping is in the baseball fields at Vermillionville. No clue if that's a good or bad thing. But the Acadian village was awesome. The only time the picking circle stopped was during Red Stick Ramblers (damn, i miss those guys).

You've never heard of any of them? They're all cajun music bands (not Zydecco).

Except Peter Rowan, who just sucks arse (bluegrass dinner from Old and in the Way, with Jerry Garcia and Vassar Clements). I've seen him frick up too many Tony Rice sets for one lifetime.
