. I seriously think if the BR leadership would listen to what the other side has to say and at least attempt to offer solutions, this St. George thing would quickly go away.

Delgado is a tool.
That he is.
I told them Delgado is slimy and dangerous. Who was right?
Delgado is going to run for either mayor or the legislature as soon as he can get the money together to do it.
The most dangerous place to be in EBR these days is to be standing between Delgado and a TV camera.....

DeeDee's recall petition took less than 3 months to get the 25% of voters signatures they needed to put the recall to a vote. For SG it's going on 6 months and counting
Yeah, because Port Allen and SG are exactly the same in size and population.

The city of B R didn't have anything to do with woodlawn not getting their on school district. You might want to get Bodi to take that up with the school board and the state legislature.
This movment is somewhat a reaction to the actions of the state legislature. The proponents of the new school district were told by the legislature that the reason they voted in favor of allowing Central, Baker and Zachary to get on the ballot and not SE BR is that unlike Central, Baker and Zachary, SE BR was only a group of neighborhoods, not an incorporated city. Ergo, if SE BR becomes an incorporated city, then the legislature "should" have no issue in treating them like Central, Baker and Zachary

SE BR was only a group of neighborhoods,
Baker and Zachary have been incorporated for almost 100 years. Central, while not incorporated, has been "Central" for many decades. You could have asked anyone who lived there 25 years ago where they lived and they would have said, "Central" and you would have known what they meant.
If you ask someone in SG where they live, they'll say "White Oak Landing" or some other subdivision, not St George (unless they actually live in the subdivision named St George).

Take some time to consider your posting history and intensity on the subject of SG in relation to this definition:

It doesn't surprise me that he is all up in the middle of this thing. He was that way in high school too. Except, it was with issues where we'd be voting for the band for prom or in a class debate (or something to that effect), and the extent he would go to fight for the differing opinion was pathetic. He'd try to rally people to join his side, where we'd all be telling him, "Jesus man just fricking relax it's not that serious". He'd blow his fuse pretty easily too. Those are my memories of him in high school. I graduated with the guy.
He is exactly that same way with this issue - 22 years later. In some ways he's grown up, and in others not so much.

Not sure how we can say St George is running away...if anything, this is an effort to change their own situation instead of running to the suburban parishes.
Is Delgado actually going to be successful if he seeks higher office? People seem to hate him.

I think it's pretty obvious that he's talking about that idiot council member that wanted to bring up to a vote, that only those people that live inside BR proper can work for the city of BR. You know this. Quit being stupid.

I've driven past a few and they always seem to have a crowd.
The only one I stopped at to sign was at the very end of the allotted time, and they were friendly and did not seem annoyed at the last minute person (a person came along after me).
Based on the dates on the petition, they had gotten about 8 signatures for that day (including mine), so with the trailer, 9. It was not in a "high traffic" area, so I suspect they do better at other locations.
I plan to vote against it, but I do think the vote should take place.
