I'm not sure I've ever been to a wedding where they asked if anyone had objections.

Some dude proposed to his fiancé in front of the sold out theater (not one open seat) just before the previews and she did not say yes. She whispered something in his ear that devastated him and they walked out the theater to talk and never came back.
Then she's not his fiancé.

I started this thread years and years ago!
The result was no one has. It's a movie myth.
The truth is no one would show up if they objected.

Never saw one, but I did attend one where someone had to be physically restrained from doing so.
Two people that had no business getting married. The groomsmen had a pool going on how long the marriage was going to last. Money actually changed hands. Good times.

I'm to the point where I'm cynical about any awkward/bad thing that happens in front of a large group of people. If I was there I would have assumed that the entire thing was being videoed and it was a prank. It is one of the biggest downsides to the YouTube/Social media era - there is a significantly likelihood that an action out of the ordinary is staged.

The Va Jay Jay is a powerful thing.

My friends thought I was objecting. The bride and groom had written a prayer and the plan was for certain members of the congregation to each stand up where they are seated and say their portion. Guess who drew the first portion. Well we get to that point and they don't really introduce it. The preacher just gives me a nod. So I stand up to say my part of the prayer unannounced. A buddy of mine grabbed me by the arm and started to yank me to the floor.

The only time I've ever seen wedding objections are in chick flicks. Never IRL.

I know a guy who got told No....twice. One of them eventually said yes.

Well usually the fricking paperwork is signed prior to the ceremony anyway, so any objection is moot.

never seen it done, but i and probably 2 billion of people would have been very thankful to have a successful objection'r at there weddings

Never seen an objection at a wedding but know a man who offered his daughter a HUGH sum of money not to marry the guy she was engaged to. She married anyway and is still married.
