I would not want to press to test but I've always read where the GDCKs are kind of clumsy and have to rise up (into the cobra position,) before they can strike

A couple of Chinese Grad Students were assigned to help me lead a Geology Field trip. Out in a river was a snake swimming by. They got really excited. "Is poisonous?" they asked with more enthusiasm than they had shown for the rocks we had seen.
I asked "Why do you ask?"
Answer,' Poisonous is good to eat, Not poisonous not taste so good."
The snake swam on, regardless. The students stepped away from my assistants.

Not that I’d frick with it but some of those elapids aren’t as accurate of strikers as vipers. Do that with a diamond back and he’s gonna tag the frick outta you. Although a mamba would probably frick you up too.

It can be both venomous and poisonous at the same time or one or the other. There are poisonous snakes too. 
Regardless, I’m not doing that with either type snake!
