Yes I've done a 3 day fast - water only. My energy levels after day 2 were pretty low but manageable. I found it surprisingly easy to fall asleep - easier than normal really - I thought that would be the worst part. I was 24 at the time, moderately fit. I had never skipped a meal on purpose prior to that.

Did you notice any "euphoric" feelings during? Any noticeable health difference after the 3 days?

Which also means flushing out the vitamins, minerals, and other stored nutrients that are water soluble. Sounds really healthy. But on the bright side, no insulin spikes! No insulin at all since no glucose to have each and every cell, including the brain, derive energy from.

We can just start referring to him as Low Energy Jeb in 3...2...1...

I did 5 days - water and coffee only. It helps a lot to get into Ketosis first. Make sure you replace your sodium.

It is actually a lot easier than you think once you are in ketosis.

Hardest time will be hours about 18 to 24. After the initial hunger passes it really isn't all that bad.

Most important thing is to ease back into eating after the 3 days. Have some broth and then a few hours later a little bit of chicken breast. If you have a big meal after you fast you'll be able to shite through a screen door.

This, 100% this. Done three day fast plenty, hours 18-22 suck major arse, after that all good. But by God do not eat heavy after you break it!!!!!! A little grass fed butter in some high quality beef broth with maybe one or two quality poached eggs is all you should have. Next meal keep it light too, third meal should be fine.

Fasting this long is great for health and fat loss. You break the fast about the time the body starts turning to muscle so you get all the fat loss effects with very little down side.

Oh and H&F board bro

No matter what fast you do, you better take vitamins. Losing valuable nutrients, your body needs isn't something to play with.

Day 1 is the hardest. It gets easier as you go. 5 days has been my personal threshold.

So I guess all those stores fat soluble vitamins bring released don't count huh? Guess it doesn't fit your agenda which I just say is ignorant at best. Go spend some time on pubmed and read the studies, before running at the mouth.

The water soluble don't matter. It's not dangerous and is actually how we evolved to eat. That's why we store vitamins in our fat so that when we go long periods of time without eating, we are still fine.

I've done 21 days on only water before. Was the start to the healthiest year of my life. Lost 39 pounds. I do 3-5 days at a time about once a month.

I'm roughly six months into doing 18-6 (ie, skip breakfast) every day and it's been one of the best things I've ever done. I've saved so much money and time by not worrying about stuffing my face around the clock.

Are there any benefits if you don't need the fat loss? Would it be harmful if you have low body fat?

If you are only spiritual because of a fast, you may not be spiritual.

Why would you need an external source of glucose if your body can make its own from stored fat and amino acids. Gluconeogenesis.

If you have never done it before it’s best to work your way up to a 72 hour fast

Start with 24 hours a few times a month then the next month a few 48s then the third do your 72 hour. The key is getting used to the hunger pains
