Just militarize the border

This. Complete the wall from the west coast to the Gulf of Mexico. Then build another identical one 25 yards farther north and fill the space between with mountains of razor wire. The $150 billion we flushed down the toilet to Ukraine would've easily covered this expense.

Put small joint military installations with guard towers on the north side of the second wall every mile or so. Weapons free authorization on all adult males who approach the first wall after being warned to turn back. Snipe the cartel coyotes keeping watch on the south side of the Rio Grande. Let the corpses pile up until they finally get the message. Send all women and children away with instructions on how to apply, and wait their turn, for citizenship.

When Mexico starts complaining, tell them to go pound sand and threaten even larger tariffs. No invasion necessary.

Bro, we fought what was probably an illegal war on the other side of the planet for nearly 2 decades

And that was, logistically, brilliant. The entire theater of war thousands of miles across an ocean with not a single risk to the non military American citizens at home.

And here you are advocating for the battlefield to be our southern fricking border, you psycho. That we could just bomb and drone our way to victory against an "enemy" that is so entwined within our own citizens that we print everything in their language? I'm sure you think they will just sit back and watch? Because we are so effective at only targeting cartel military installations? You're expecting No blowback? No internal legal challenges? No internal insurgency from the millions of US CITIZENS who are having their country of origin bombed under the guise of a failed "war on drugs"?

frick all that nonsense.

I do

You volunteering to go fight?

This is actually the only way to defeat terrorist and cartels. They operate on fear and terror tactics and have little respect for anything else.

The only way to win is be more brutal that they are. Take away their will to fight or their ability whichever they give up first.

America's enemies learned valuable lessons from the US-Vietnam war that we here forgot or never learned and worse yet every conflict we have been is since Vietnam those tactics have been used against us without us changing strategy one half of a step in either direction.

We don't need to invade mexico for that. We have precisely trained units that are more than capable of executing that mission if given authority and autonomy to carry it out.

Just tell Mexico, we're going to clean up your streets a little bit since you refuse to do it and if your military even moves in our guys directions we'll bring the full force of the US armed services to bare on their positions without hesitation of remorse.

Thats the recipe for more immigration to the US from Mexico.

We need more manufacturing in Mexico and less in the Far East.

No. Should we treat the Cartels like a terror organization? Yes.

Of course, we’d have to get the CIA out of the way first.

That's what the double wall and the military installations with weapons-free authorization would be for. They will immigrate legally or they will go back where they came from...or, if they try to cross illegally, they will be shot and left to rot in the sun.

I think we need more manufacturing in the United States and less in both of those places.

This sounds like a great way to completely wreck what's left of America's food supply.

No indeed. All it would lead to is making Mexico another state to keep one party forever in power in Washington.

Do the right thing and give California back. Lots of problems would be solved right there. Throw in the city of Portland as well. Show me how I a wrong?

The US government loves the cartels. They love the money that it brings in. Too much money involved it will never be wiped out. Our leaders on both sides do not care for the true well being of the people. Its all about the dough…has been for a long time

The US government loves the cartels. The black market is huge, meets needs that govt cannot.

Those of you who are voting for Trump, please understand that these are the kinds of people you're aligning yourselves with. These ideas of bombing Mexico, killing their people indiscriminately, calling them pests and parasites...this verbiage didn't just come out of nowhere. These are ideas and things your candidate says on the regular. Not only says, but tried to do in his previous term (luckily there were some sane people around him who told him no).

They would probably voluntarily give it to us if we asked nicely. It would be nice to have access to their guacamole.

I’m actually making this post from Mexico.
