Weddings and funerals are the two biggest wastes of money in life. I'd say weddings are slightly worse.

I'm stunned at how many people disagree with this after reading through the responses BTW. Are you guys really superstitious enough to think that paying $15k for a freaking coffin is a good decision? And another $3k for the service? Such a waste.

Funerals are so people can mourn the loss of a loved one. It provides closure for the family and friends.

Some people just don't need a funeral or service to find closure. If that's you, I'm jealous. People grieve in different ways. A funeral service is just a tradition.

Sadly, I've been to more funerals than weddings.

Depends on the age of who died. If they are young its hard to party.

I am going to have a party. Open mike. Music. Come say what you want, have a good time, and life goes on, except mine.

I had a boss that lost a parent and instead of all of us to donate money or flowers they asked for donations for food to have a fish fry for their family.

However they also had a funeral

going to one today for a father who was tragically taken in a boating accident. He's leaving behind a wife and two children.
Not gonna be fun.

I've already written my own eulogy. My will is my masterpiece; a manifesto that will be read without emotion by my obese attorney at the funeral -- a tell all memoir in which I will make most everyone in attendance happy that I am dead.

What kind of a heartless monster are you? Among other things, funerals are a good opportunity to take advantage of distraught broads, get 'em drunk and get laid.

I want to be cremated. But not in the regular way. I wanna be on a small wooden ship and someone shoot an arrow so that I can burn on a pyle. Fairly cheap and there can be a large festival afterwards.
