My kids try to wear them to school and get mad when I tell them to put on real shoes.

Why not own some for around the house? If I go to the beach mine goes with me. If not at the beach or just stepping in the yard I wear them. They are convenient. They have their time and place. Same with kids. Time and place for wearing Crocs

They're fine to lounge around in, or at the beach or something, but they are little more than glorified flip flops. People look a little trashy when they wear them to do everything.

My kids wore them when they were little .
They're cheap. Kids feet change sizes quickly.
They're easy to rinse off. Little kids take their shoes off a lot, get dirty, put shoes back on.
Kids lose shite and throw shite out of windows. They're cheap.
