I don't get why this dude is so popular, but it seems like people I wouldn't even think would like him does. Personally, I think he sucks. He is a try hard.
There is no question he is successful and I give him credit for building what he has built, but I don't "get it".

I like him. He’s entertaining and comes off pretty sincere.

Here's an interview Drew Magary (funny writer) did with Guy Fieri. I think Drew went into it with the same opinion of Guy as you have, as did I when I went to read the article.
Turns out, he's actually a pretty damn nice guy. Worth the read.

I'm not a huge fan of him, but respect his hard work. I wish I could have his job.
