Actually no. We buried my moms younger sister yesterday. Kind of a wake up call. My parents are coming over today for lunch and I look forward to it. Be thankful for who you still have because you never know when they might not be a phone call away.

Truth.

I read and type this from the hospital because my dad took a bottle of pills last night in a drunken stupor. He lost his wife a month ago and is having a really hard time with the pain. I feel terrible for him. He's scared and lost, doesn't know what to do and I feel so helpless. Hopefully a few days of clarity without any alcohol and some professional treatment will make him realize how much he wants to be here to watch his grandchildren grow.

Treasure your family moments because when they're gone, they're gone.

I hear you man! I actually enjoy all of my family and extended family. My MIL does as well, however, she is a control freak and is paranoid about germs. So, when relatives stay, especially grands and great grands, she is extremely nervous and may get ornery. This happens because she wants things done her way and hands washed all the time but with kids this is nearly impossible. God forbid if you cut your own piece of cake or reach into a bag of cookies or chips. Look out....

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope your Dad recovers and will adjust to the pain of his loss by being with family among other ways.

OP, I'm not tired of my family at all. I'm dog sick right now and missed out on the festivities Friday night and all day yesterday and last night and will miss this evening. Makes me feel worse than I already do. I love being with everyone at one time over the holidays.

Be careful what you wish for. Only blood of my own I've spent time with since Thanksgiving is an uncle, and I walked out of the house on Thanksgiving because my parents and grandmother were so grumpy.

I'm tired of seeing my mom's side. My dad's side is always a good time.

I miss my side of the family. They are in India and very rarely get to see them. I'm tired of my wife's side
