I had strep twice in my first semester at LSU. never before, never since, but i’ll be damned if that thing didn’t knock me on my arse as badly as the flu. it’s such a casual thing nowadays but strep fricking sucks

1. Pour 6-8 oz of whole milk in a coffee cup.
2. Microwave on high for 2 minutes
3. Stir in 1 or 2 tablespoons of honey
Sip on this concoction and it will soothe your throat.
Take vitamin D supplements if you have them, to help with immunity. Hang in there friend.

Because medicine changes as we learn more. Most of these are viral, first of all, so an antibiotic shot only kills your gut bacteria and raises your bill. If you’re thinking steroids then 10mg of dexamethasone can help a bad viral pharyngitis- you can get a shot or pills. Steroids don’t help most viral illnesses, the above and hypoxic covid patients being the exceptions.
OP should use cepachol lozenges, salt water gargles, and 400mg ibuprofen plus 1,000mg tylenol every 6 hours.
If it’s as bad as he says it is he should probably get tested for gonoccocal pharyngitis. Throat gonorrhea is no joke.

The dr. gave you 2 antibiotics for strep throat? That is weird. Usually one antibiotic will knock it out.

OP, if this is mono and you take amoxicillin you will develop a horrific rash in about a week.

Last fall I got COVID and it came with "razor blade soar throat." Was horrific.

My whole house keeps getting this sinus infection crap. It will go away for about a week and come back. Congestion, sinus drip, stopped up ears and headache.
Never had this upper respiratory issue linger like this until Covid hit.

He has amoxicillin and a steroid dose pack and is incorrectly calling the dose pack a z pack (I hear this mistake all the time )
