It’s a NOLA thing. You wouldn’t understand.

If you're around more than 2 black people at the same time you start to have hot flashes so I can see how Mardi Gras might not be your thing.

I was honestly unaware of how many miserable fricks there are on this board.

This is every year during this time. It's the same people that flood to Disney threads. We love to tell people how much we don't like something on the internet.

I don’t really like Mardi Gras myself but I get the appeal and I am happy others enjoy it. I didn’t grow up going to parades so the nostalgia factor just isn’t there for me.

It’s fun having some people come to my place to people watch though.

Humans can find attachment to almost anything, its not creepy, its normal. Local pride, parties, festivities, promotes community.. There are worse things to concern oneself with.

Cringe is an overused term, but it's spot on about this.

Haha the fact you followed up on this has me intimidated and leads me to believe you are a very skilled dancer.

I kindly forfeit, sir. You are the superior animal with agility and rhythm in spades

When I lived in New Orleans (never more than a couple two tree blocks from St Charles), it was awesome. We’d just shut down like everyone else, for 10 days. Get two kegs. Walk everywhere and friends came to stay with us. Never anything too crazy. Parties at Anne Rice’s house and such. The occasional daytime trek to the quarter for a balcony party, but mostly avoided.

A bygone era, and I don’t think I’d ever go to New Orleans around MG.
