Go to crutchfield, put in your truck info, and see what fits. Figure out what you want and if you don't want to install it yourself. Go to best buy or someplace that does installs and buy the head unit from them to install.
You could also do some reading on the F150 Forum audio section to get some more info on your year model.

Went to Bestbuy yesterday. Guy told me they furloughed all car install technicians in the New Orleans area.

I put a cool under dashboard 8 track and some kick arse Jenson speakers in my 70 Chevelle last weekend. Chrome reverse wheels coming soon!

Put a new headunit in 2 vehicles (05 F150 & 07 Malibu) over the past few years. Bought them from crutchfield and they give you all of the information on how to take the dash apart and install the new one. It's really very easy.

What year and trim level is your F150? The newer models replacing the head unit isn't as easy as it is on older models.

I have a 2012. I’d like to keep the steering wheel controls & push to call function in tact, which is why I feel more comfortable paying someone who knows that they’re looking at. I watched a YouTube video that mentioned soldering wires and I was out.

No soldering required if you go with the wiring harass crutchfield will recommend with whatever unit you would need to keep the steering wheel controls.
Another option is a used OEM Ford replacement from a junk yard.

Use Crutchfield’s, order wiring kit, install. When it doesn’t work, go back and read the directions they include. Try again, then voila!

A week ago, I was in this camp. Now that I know that I can upgrade my whole system with a 7” touchscreen & Apple play while saving several hundred dollars; I changed my mind.

Unfortunately car doesn’t have XM. I am thinking about looking into adding something like this. You can listen to Sirius via App but radio presets and steering wheel controls don’t interact with iPhone. Don’t want to mess with phone in order to change stations

For today's cars are royal pain in the arse. Nothing fits or matches. I'm looking at replacing the one in my wife's Camry. fricking aweful.
