I don’t know. Ask carson. He’s the one doing the research on this.

are reporting that all you need is a pressure washer and a foam gun to wash once the coating is applied. pretty much touchless

Having had 2 vehicles coated by 2 different companies....this just isn't reality. Yes, washes are much easier/quicker, but road/rain scum still takes a light touch from microfiber mitt to get 100% clean.

I think Carson is getting scammed out of his dad's money. He should look for a better deal, imo.

Ceramic Pro in BR did my truck for about $1000, and the coating has a lifetime warranty at that price.

Did they make you get a complete paint job beforehand?

what level of paint correction did you have done? any interior work? every place I've priced has been in that $1700-$2000 when comparing with similar levels of prep work

they may tell you that, but that's not the case. it's impossible for the coating to last a life time. there are plenty of videos on youtube of guys testing the coatings over time. Ceramic Pro is also an inferior coating to Opticoat and GTechniq

Not hard at all. Maybe a little extra elbow grease but 10x easier that without it the coating. Only spot I have a little trouble with is the side mirrors but it's still not bad.

I've had about 2 instances of rocks hitting my windshield that would normally leave it chipped or cracked...no issue at all now after I got my work done.

OP,
I wanna say mine cost around $1000 to have it coated. I went overboard and got film too but with that added it was still cheaper than what you were quoted. Alex (shop owner) even gave me a bag with a ton of cleaning supplies to use, registered my coating with Carfax so it's noted in the vehicle history (add value when I ever sell it or trade in) and if you call ahead, he'll do a quick detail on your car if you're ever in the area after it's coated.

im all about better deals, but i havent seen much difference in price when comparing 50hr prep + paint correction. you're not paying much for the coating itself - you're paying for the prep.

We did it on my wife’s car 2.5 years ago. A lot of stuff rolls off, occasional bug splatter stays but is easy to clean off. There must be streaks of it down our driveway from where it was applied because the concrete looks dry when it rains in those areas. As far as if it’s worth it or not, it’s a luxury and we did it because my wife wanted it. I didn’t do it for my own vehicle when I got a new one.

I didn't either, lmao, but it was totally worth it. Hell, he even let me use his loaner car to get to work the next day after I dropped my truck off I want to say I have 2 or 3 coats, I can't remember. But they use Opticoat, fyi

opticoat is a good one

so he only had it for 1 day?

Byron told me he'd need it for 3.5 days, which is kinda a pain

Yeah, no

But the coatings do help protect your color correction. I'd ask how much is it prior to final coat. What specifically is he using for the ceramic coat, etc...

ETA, also its kind of hard for them to give you a complete quote without seeing how bad your paint needs to be fixed first. The ceramic coats, you are paying for pretty much materials. Most of the cost of these, to do them right, is in the paint correction

My son actually does them. It's amazing the difference it makes. Fwiw, he's considerably cheaper.

I think I paid $800 at Bring Back the Shine Detailing in Gonzales. They were great. Alex Holder was the guy's name. He did a full paint correction first.

Just my opinion, but I haven't had any issue of anything getting on my vehicle that I couldn't wash off in a car wash. I usually pay a little more and use the nicer car washes.

I can wash my truck as much as I need to before I buy a new one, and won't come close to spending $1700 in fees. So for me, it's not worth the price.

Yep, we set everything up about a week ahead of time. I dropped it off on a Wednesday evening after work. Took the loaner car, and went back the next day around 5 to pick it up. They had it coated, had the film on it, brake calipers painted, and clean as it was when I bought it off the lot. This was on a full size truck btw. He's got a handful of employees and they work their arse off to get everything done in a timely manner.

They're always posting pics and videos on their Instagram & FB account. Check'em out of you get a chance:
