I’ve found sleeping in a wrist brace makes a difference
My mom just had the surgery & she said the difference is huge

Do the EASY surgery. Outpatient and was back to nirmal in a week (basic functions like writing, etc)
Couldnt believe i had put it off. Do it on a thursday and heal up over the weekend.

Yeah, I'm wearing a wrist brace and got a much better mouse for work. It's one of those that keeps your arm straight.
OP did you go thru workers comp?

I'm glad to hear so many of you had success with the surgery. I was told it's a 50/50 shot of getting better.

Its basically a nerve being pinched as it travels thru a ligament. The surgery makes the slit in the ligament longer, which takes the pressure off the nerve.
Im just not sure at all why it would be a 50/50 success rate.
I have heard of alternate trestment procedures...have no clue of their success

I’m in dfw so there are plenty of specialist who do the minimally invasive one
I’m going to look into workers comp

My mom had it in both hands. I think she had surgery, and I haven’t heard her mention it since.

I had numbness in both hands so bad it would wake me up 3-5 times a night and happen numerous times during the day. Nerve conduction tests by a Dr. Smith on Quail Dr. showed carpel tunnel in both wrists.Dr. Robicheaux operated on the left and advised I couldn't lift anything heavier than a coffee cup for six weeks. Then did the other. Numbness gone but still have a little soreness in the hand on the last one and its been 3 months but its getting better as time goes on.I recommend the surgery.
Prep time was an hour or two but actual surgery took only about 10 minutes.

I had the nerve test done and I have it in both wrists and both elbows. Pain is constant in right forearm, left side comes and goes. Anyone know a good doctor in BR for surgery?
Oh, and the nerve test wasn’t that bad y’all, c’mon!

To the people that had surgery what were your symptoms?

Don't do surgery
I know a shite load of people who had the surgery, and it will never be the same. And it will come back, there will be lingering effect, and worse down the road.
Lots and lots of peeps at Chrysler had the surgery, and they all said don't do it. I did not do it, i got off the job i had, took the pressure off that hand/wrist, and it went away on it's own.

Really? I’ve heard the newer noninvasive surgery is very effective and know people who swear by it
It’s come a long way in 10-20 years

It's been a while, but no one i know, who's had it, even concrete guys i know, have the surgery, they always let it get better itself, with brace, taking it easy, etc.
