Anyone changed the back glass and frame out on a new iPhone, Xr?

I’ve taken apart every iPhone to date (outside of the 8 and X), but this seems like taking 100% of the components out of the original one and installing them in a new frame. The battery would never survive, but the screen components, which are generally a PITA to swap, would stay intact. Just the back camera and light...Waterproofing would likely be less than perfect going forward.
I doubt it would be worth trying to just swap the glass, that would never seal back on.
Repair time says 1:35 on YouTube, usually they under estimate the shite out of these jobs. That’s scary.

Mostly to get made fun of on here...not really, but I caught a ton of shite for customizing one of them with a bamboo inlay.

Can't be done. Phone will never be the same. The glass is made to the back panel. You would be better off just paying Apple for the repair.

In the unlimitedville thread you mentioned bypassing the $30 from the ebay guy. i have tried two IMEI numbers i pulled from ebay pictures like you suggested but they are saying they are not compatible. i must be doing something wrong.

Anything Apple can do, I can do. Take a replacement frame and swap all of the components over. Probably buy a new battery too, since the stick-em they use makes it very difficult to remove the battery without shorting it.
