Until significant evidence comes to light supporting an afterlife of some sort, I consider it to be nothing more than wishful thinking on the part of a species that overvalues its importance and has a hard time coping with mortality.

I think that our brain is a conduit for consciousness, not the origin. Sentience exists at a plane beyond the material. In what form, I do not know. I have hedged my bet with Jesus Christ, but I can't say that I am 100% in knowing.

As a kid I went to church on Sunday, children’s ministry on Wednesday nights, and did everything I was supposed to do in accordance with the Christian faith. But I never actually believed any of it. I took it as an old story meant to hold off our fears of the unknown.
But something happened to me that lead me to start questioning whether or not there is something out there. I still didn’t believe though. However, after going to school, and learning all the incalculable “coincidences” that had to have occurred for us to exist, I came to the conclusion that it makes no sense to conclude that life as we know spontaneously came into existence.
Then I had something else happen in my life, and I developed a relationship with Jesus. I have more peace in my life than ever before. I understand now all of the challenges that I once thought were there to hinder me we’re actually his way of making me better.
Believe how you want, judge me if you want, but my faith and belief will never resolve around the opinions of my fellow man.
