Is it seasonal? It’s a bad time of year for many people, whether holidays were good (crash back to reality) or bad (wasted time) post holiday is shite. frick January except for some decent distractions like sports.
Need to identify triggers, consistency, trends etc to help diagnose and work through.
Man, sometimes happiness or something close is right around the corner.

Cold water immersion. You can get a tub for 50 bucks on amazon. Moderate exercise followed by 5 minutes in a cold tub does wonders for my body, physically and mentally.

My experience is you can’t - you can just plow through it if they mean that but it’s still there. I imagine most people just plow through it pushing it to the back but that will burn you out eventually.

Don’t know if you are trying to be funny, but if you are uber competitive, it can suck to lose the opportunity to compete. For me, coaching football and basketball brought that “feeling” back…

Brother, I'm sorry you're dealing with this.
DM me if you think I can help. Depression is real.

Setting new goals everyday.
I write down the 5 most important things I have to accomplish every day at the end of the day for the next. Sometimes it takes a week or two or longer to get them accomplished.

Yep, a few times a year, by knowing that it will pass at some point.

Day to day man. Just day to day.

Not going to say I've beaten it, but it seems to be leaving me alone.

If you're lazy, fix it.
You can stay busy even if you're unmotivated.
Force yourself to build towards something. Find a hobby. Something to develop and grow your mind. Most cases of depression, in my opinion, stem from sorta being a quitter in some ways. (No judgement)
Get busy building toward something every day. No matter how small, at first. Get a high score on a game. Read that book you've been thinking about for a long time and too busy to pick up. Fix something around the house. Learn about nutrition. Work out. Learn a language. Whatever. You get the point. Stay busy! And when you get good at this, keep pressing the envelope a bit. Challenge yourself more and more.
Change your rhythm. Force your brains into a productive mindset.
Give yourself a chance. As many as it takes. Whatever you do, stop stopping! You can stop when you're dead. Everyone deserves to wake up with some measure of excitement for what your day has in store.
You 100% can do this.
Cheers!

This is where spirituality comes in handy. Deep diving into your own psyche and dealing with the darkness inside that's controlling you.
Becoming well acquainted with your shadows is how you learn to keep them from controlling you.

For me, getting outside, especially when the Sun's out. Simplest thing is to walk. You can also listen to a podcast, audible book, Bible, etc. There's something about getting outside that helps which may mean you need Vit D3 and K2, especially during winter when the days are shorter. Reading my Bible gives me a much better reset. Watch negativity. Also, go to a gym and workout if you can even if it's only for 30 min to an hour. Resistance training helps. Then slowly build from there. I've never tried this, but a guy I know swears that cold plunging totally changed his life. I have tried cold showers. It definitely shocks your brain out of a rut. And I did feel alert, alive, and ready to tackle the day. But I don't do that often.

Exercise, in any form, 30 minutes a day
Volunteer, help others. Many are worse off
than you.
Go to church. Get in touch with God. He's there for you.
Seek therapy, not medications.
These steps work.

They used to have a cure for depression but like everything else in medicine, they hide the cure and sign you up for a subscription plan that doesn’t work because it’s more profitable
That being said, if they bring back the lobotomy I’ll be first in line. Depression is a sign of intelligence
