I almost slit my wrist. You couldn’t squeeze in another car on that road. Time to move to the country.

Use Bluebonnet instead. I take 12 home and then come around to 10 and goto Bluebonnet because you never know when Essen is gonna be a parking lot.

I know south Louisiana traffic is getting horrific when people move to bogalusa from mandeville just to get away from the traffic.

Not joking. They say it’s a hidden gem lol. Their longer explanation is that they got the same house plus 5 acres of land and a swimming pool for 25% less money and half the property taxes.

Four houses have sold in my neighborhood recently and only one was a local buyer. Strange times.

“Hidden gem” is apparently code for “the land is cheap because you can smell the paper mill from miles around.”

Some of my friends growing up had a mother from there and would have to go there occasionally to visit family. They were NOT fans.

At least if anyone was shot during traffic it would be a close drive to OLOL or BR Gen.

Sat through 12 light cycles getting off 10 west onto Essen. Want to know why? Assholes blocking the intersection trying to get on 10 East from Essen. Driving into an intersection that isn’t cleared should be punishable by jail time. Inconsiderate asshats.

Or time to just start working from home if your employer allows you to. I couldn’t figure out why that wasn’t more popular before Covid. Now after Covid, I say it’s irresponsible for the majority of employers to still force employees to come into the office because now they know how to make it work. The technology is there, why not take advantage of it?

I was in the National Guard unit there when the old armory was right behind the paper mill. On a good morning, you could smell it in Covington. The one saving grace was that in being that close to the mill, you were used to the smell by the time you left for home after final formation Sunday evening.
