I can't tell if I am involuntarily lucid dreaming or not. It sounds like I am from everything I've read about it. I'll be barely asleep and then something weird happens where I'm in a dream-like state but I can't move or anything. I'm more or less paralyzed; but I know I'm not completely asleep or awake.

I thought lucid dreaming was when you controlled what was happening

Either way, lucid or not, this shite is annoying and screwing with my sleep.

That's called sleep paralysis.

Scary shite, but very common.

It's so you can't fight off the aliens when they probe you.

LOL, you got probed.

Same. I was interested if there was anyone who followed a strict regiment to actually lucid dream on a regular basis. I think there's actually a systematic way of doing it whenever you'd like.

That is sleep paralysis. Lucid dreaming is where you are aware that you are dreaming and can do whatever you want, like fly to the moon or sex Miley Cyrus.

I lucid dream sometimes, but it's completely random when it happens. Sometimes I'll be able to create entire worlds because I feel like it and spend what seems like weeks doing whatever I want, while other times I'll know I'm dreaming but I can't control anything. I would absolutely love to be able to control it, taking what feels like a two week vacation to another dimension just because you can is the best thing ever. Last time I lucid dreamed it was kinda scary though, I kept waking up and each time I thought it was finally real but I was still asleep. Had to force myself to get up a few times before I actually woke up, and for the first few minutes I wasn't sure if it was real that time

Lucid dreaming is when you can train yourself to control your dream. Excercises of the mind before bed can allow you to dream about whatever you want and be aware it's a dream and control it.

My apologies. Didn't read thread. The previous posters are correct.

That's called sleep paralysis and don't google it unless you like nightmare fuel.

It's only happened to me once. It was awesome. I was like Neo in the end of the first Matrix. I haven't been able to recreate it.

No, u really dont. Unless u can wake yourself up at will. If your imagination goes bad and u begin thinking bad things, then they will happen. I got "caught" in one and could not wake myself up...nearly had a heart attack.

Sleep paralysis is no joke. Had it since I was 6 years old. Used to be the scariest shite ever...kinda still is..you almost get used to it but not quite. It's spiritual warfare. 3M ppl suffer from it a year. Watch THE NIGHTMARE (documentary) on Netflix just came out. Explains the phenomenon pretty accurately .

I have lucid dreams about once or twice a week. They occur at random. Much like the poster said earlier, they are like mini-vacations. I usually wake up an hour or two than I normally do and I am full of energy.

Had one last night as a matter of fact. It felt like it started the instant I went to sleep. I ended up touring "Israel". I toured eloborate buildings and landscapes even took a helicopter ride, felt like I was there for days.

Not sure if it's called a lucid dream or not, but I'll be in situations where I'm in that 'halfway' stage and feel paralyzed. I know I'm sleeping but can't wake myself up. I'll start really freaking and screaming out but there is nothing I can do. Eventually I'll wake up. Never knew what this was. Weird stuff but hasn't happened in a while. Usually was more common if I fell asleep on my back or with my head leaned back.

Lucid dreaming = usually involves human flight.. Then everyone in my vicinity is amazed and inevitably asks how I do it... And when I stumble to explain (it's impossible to verbalize)... They get jealous, pissed, and turn on me - ruining my flight I end up crashing usually

I'm jealous. I can't have lucid dreams anymore. Might have one once a year.

Sleep paralysis is very tough. When I'm in it I just try and focus really hard on moving my arm. Then another arm and from there maybe I can wake up.
