Clear sky, but constant flashes like heat lightning.

Every direction too. Just flashes of light in the sky.

What are you doing outside? I thought Clinton had a curfew.

Do you not have a weather app?

Big thunderstorm up in Mississippi.

That's a long way away.

But now it got...odder.

Came inside to piss, walked back out a minute later and the sky is filled with clouds as far as you can see.

Light travels far. Thunderstorms are high so at night you can see the lightning from far away.

Heat lightning, sometimes known as silent lightning, is a misnomer used for the faint flashes of lightning on the horizon or other clouds from distant thunderstorms that do not appear to have accompanying sounds of thunder.
