Any positive result is likely placebo. If her knee is bone on bone, stem cells won’t regrow that cartilage, it’s just not possible. You can bet that if these procedures actually worked, everyone would do it and insurance would pay for it rather than a knee replacement.

The guys out there promoting stem cells don’t have any particular expertise or skill that is better than other doctors, they just lack the morals that would prevent them from taking $5-12 grand for something that is slightly better than snake oil.

You fell for an obvious troll from a poster known for trolling. Who's the stupid hillbilly?

I know someone whose patella snapped in half and had terrible knee problems.
They did stem cell treatment and he swears it's good as new.

Microfracture surgery is an option. Athletes looking to get a few more years out of a bum knee often turn to this procedure. It does have a long recover process for obvious reasons. Here is some research on comparing procedures you are looking for. Therapeutic Strategies for Stem Cell Based Knee Regeneration

Thanks I will read the studies for more info.

My wife had the microfracture done on her other knee several years ago. It's her "good knee" now and looks great in the X-rays. They said that because she is older and may not heal as well she wasn't a great candidate for another microfracture. Not sure if there is data or this is anecdotal.

Wife (no pics) had knee replacement done almost exactly a year ago. She had bone on bone and we sought medical counsel from several doctors on stem cells. The overwhelming advice was, there was no remedy for her knee but total knee replacement. She has had a very painful rehab, but finally getting back to where she was prior to her knee degradation. The is an interesting Joe Rogan podcast with Mel Gibson on stem cells. Good Luck.

her knee is pretty much bone on bone

I wouldn't think stem cells would do shite for this situation. Sounds more like a mechanical solution is needed.

Friend had procedure done where they injected fat from the buttocks and stem cells to build cartilage in both knees. Painful and time consuming but he has put off replacement surgery for about ten years and his job is very labor intensive. He's aldo a competitive body builder. Doctor is in Lafayette and initial out of pocket costs were over 10k. He goes in for follow up treatment. You might want to talk to him.
