Your district is investing in equity when it already has equity…that’s stupid.

This is the most logical reason for these new types of positions. If we didn't have racist dickbags like the OP, maybe we wouldn't need to have these types of positions in our schools.

Awesome feedback. I don't normally get to engage with someone who makes ad hoc meritless attacks so I'd like to ask you a few questions:
1)What in my original post was so offensive?
2)If what I said was offensive, how would you envision that a Chief Equity officer would have made me a better person?
3)Would a chief equity officer have helped with your childhood upbringing and perhaps fostered a better vocabulary and debating skills rather than relying on your tired "racist" canard?

The whole "equity" realm is philosophical bullshite derived from CRT dogma. You should browbeat your school board members for allowing such a position to exist in the first place.

The guy says we aren't going to rename a building and says a couple supportive things about athletics and this fan base up and disregards his entire collection of academic papers which was where the apprehension originated from in the first place.

He's intelligent. He's the president of a university, not some blue hair screaming on a tumbler. I'm pleasantly surprised so far, but I'm definitely not naive enough to say we were all wrong just from a couple superficial acts after only 8 or so months on the job.

This is fricking strange.

Can you tell us you are a racist any other way, without saying you are a racist?

The way I read your OP is: "My kid's school hired a black person. I can't believe this shite. Well, if they are going to hire a black person at least this one seems to have done a pretty good job raising her kids, she can read and likes LSU football, lived in a state with mostly white people, isn't scared of dogs and can do more than all of those dances black people do. If only I knew if she voted Republican I guess I can tolerate it a little better"..

That doesn't matter. He needs to know her politics because that matters a lot more than whether or not she is fair and really good at her job.

I was going to add more to my OP but didn't want to go on and on. Here is what I was going to add:
-She's not trans (to check the right box)
-Doesn't appear to be a man hater

I guess this is what happens when all people see is race. Here is what I see: A person with middle class values, values education, likes to read(seems rare these days), a person that likes dogs is normally a positive in my book.
This is someone that I'd like as a neighbor, regardless of race.

If this person were the new Chief Equity Officer,
[/img]

and she was from BR, I'd be asking the same questions. And I probably wouldn't want her to be my neighbor.

You guys just don't get it, it's about values, not race.

Yep, do need to know her politics. In the last election, the union backed school board candidates all won. You might be aware of how union dominated school districts are faring these days. From my limited time on TD I've gathered you probably don't have kids so you might not be aware of what is going on in a lot of school districts. Maybe I should share one of their reading lists from 6th grade english class.

So you don’t think he would have made this post if the equity officer was white?

IMO the white race hustlers are even worse. The color of her skin is irrelevant. Her job and stated goals are the problem.

The part that you don’t understand is that she could be really good at her job and that would be horrible for OP’s kids.

Um…an equitable start = equity

We like it in sports, but evidently less so in education

Starting blocks on a track is not equity. It's equality. Equity would be if you put Usain Bolt 20 meters behind the white guy from Poland running the 100. That's equity.
