Is that Adderall? I was on regular Adderall for a year or so because generics are free vs a shite ton for Vyvanse, but I haaaaated it. I was tired all the time, but couldn't sleep. And I was grinding my teeth. Ugh.

Yes, and I take Adderall as needed. Vyvanse didn't work at all for me. When I take the meds, I can focus on things, remember things, go back to what I was doing after a distraction, etc.
Without it, I get lost in what I'm doing frequently, and if I get distracted, I can pretty much quit what I was just doing, because there's no going back. Say I'm taking a test and someone starts clicking their pen. I can't continue taking the test after I notice that. Without it, I also get hyper-focused on things, and will not do anything else until I finish that. No eating, sleeping, moving to other, more important tasks.

Yes, but your motivation will not.
If you wake up and decide to clean the kitchen, you'll clean that bitch as well as it's ever been cleaned.
If you wake up and decide to do nothing that day, you'll go out of your way to do absolutely nothing.

Parents kinda knew I was early on. My Dad was on some experimental medications for it as a child and now has hand tremors as a result. So I think they were worried about medicating me just from being gunshy about that.
I did okay in school but could've done much better with a better ability to focus. Which I don't know if medication would've done for me.
At 22 I went and got diagnosed by non-quack pill mill types. Spent a week on my script for adderrall but that first Friday night at a bro's house several folks mentioned how different I was acting and how much it was impacting my personality and I tossed those f*ckers out and said screw this.
Not quite a decade later I was looking for an edge at work and didn't want the crack-like, mood-altering adderrall effects so I went back, got a confirmation of my diagnosis and tried Vyvanse.
Spent a week on it, felt creepy crawly and nervous as f*ck. Threw that sh!t out and swore I'd just deal with myself as-is the rest of my life.
I know some folks who take a GD Adderrall XR in the morning and by the afternoon can barely sit still and concentrate at work. Now those folks have been on it since age 7. Sh!t is ridiculous. Very glad I don't have it that bad and wasn't medicated as a child.
Interesting Side Note: If you ever wanna power-drink to the point where you think you're Hammertime in a knuckle-checking thread trying to #humblebrag while at the Prop Stop in a Worm-bucket drinking marathon while remaining amazingly sober, adderrall has its uses.
Or so I've heard.

I just got my prescription of vyvanse 50mg. What is my outlook? Will my focus sharply increase?
I was diagnosed with ADD when I was a child in the 80's. I took ritalin as a kid and didn't have too many issues then. I stopped taking them in Jr high and i had issues with homework, tests, behavior. I struggled. As an adult, I would say it affects me pretty severe. I have a lot of trouble staying focused at work, and while driving. It's almost got me fired.
I decided to make a change. My kid was dealing with the same stuff, and since we put him on meds, it's been a 180 for him. I decided to start seeing his dr, and have recently gotten on vyvanse. IStarted low (30mg) and that was sort of working, but not all the way. I have recently gotten bumped up to 40mg and if that doesn't work, it will go to 50mg. I have found 30 was helping a little with focus, so hopefully 40mg will get me where I want to be. I have found since starting that I am less likely to Procrastinate, and I get things done right away instead of not doing them and forgetting. I had a bad problem putting things off, and completely forgetting about them. Short term memory was non existent.

took adderoll for 15 years. I was a slave to it.
stopped cold 3 years ago, and ive never felt more alive. that stuff completely alters your personality over time. I miss the laser focus, but the side effects were awful to me.
it also made me drink way too much.

You can't snort Vyvanse, tell your Dr you want adderall 30s.

Felt like I “raged” too much haha. When I got home from work the only way I felt like I could relax was to smoke cigs and drink. Also my mind would get foggy and couldn’t think a problem through. Would almost feel like there was a “road block” and couldn’t get a round it. Not sure if that damage is permanent but I haven’t felt like that on vyvanse. At least not yet.

vyvanse is the best of the drugs for it out there.
you'll buzz for a week, and never notice it unless you haven't had it. yeah, you'll be more productive and observant.
but for it to really matter, you also have to actually focus on helping it do its job. don't just take the drug and be content with your energy levels improving and therefore productivity. actually consciously make efforts to stay on task and make goals, and knock them out.
and imho, take breaks from it at times and give your body a rest. good luck sleeping your first week lol.

I had horrible side effects on Ritalin, but have been able to adjust my Adderall dosage to where I don't speed or have any negative effects. I don't even feel anything coming down off of it, and can fall asleep any time I want.
I do take other meds than prolong the effects of it, but I'm 185lbs, and take it three or four times a week. A 10mg regular works fine for 5-6hrs, and a 20mg XR sometimes lasts 12-15hrs. My Dr wanted me to take a 30mg XR in the morning, and a 20mg regular late in the afternoon (I don't sleep much anyway). Glad I have more experience than her with it.

Yeah.
Anyone notice the Silverado ads on Tigerdroppings? I like the color. Reminds me of an old hunting cabin. That was a cool place. My dog loved it. I miss him a lot. Wonder if there is a dog heaven.
Oh shite I have to go back to work. Can't wait for football season though. Wish I could play worth a damn. My knees are horrible. I remember the first time I hurt my knee. I was playing basketball at the time in that old gym. Wonder why it didn't have AC. That should be a requirement in Louisiana. What a terrible state that is. fricking stupid governor.

My parents didn't want me on meds while in high school or college, so I obliged. It's pretty scary how good of a student I could have been had I taken it then, but it all worked out.
