Heard a story third hand from a teacher. Said when Elvis played Sheffield, AL the first time (1950’s) he went to a diner after the show. The owner said he ordered 5 burgers, 5 fries, and 5 shakes. The owner thought he was trying to show out eating all that food. Next time Elvis was in town, the diner owner’s curiosity got the best of hun and so he went to his show. He said after watching him perform he understood why he needed all that food.
Another from an elderly lady who I knew from church. She was at one of those Sheffield shows. Said the bill had many artists from Sun’s label. The artists would play 3-5 songs and the next act would come on. It was in a packed auditorium and they only had like 15 watt amps at the time. She said she remembered when Johnny Cash was on stage the girls were screaming so loud for Elvis that no one could here Johnny Cash so Elvis came out on the stage and asked the audience to quiet down for his friend.
I have a few more it’s just a lot to type.
Rest up and let's hear some more. Love Elvis.

My aunts dad taught Elvis to play the guitar. Her dad was a pastor at the church the Presley’s attended when he was growing up in Tupelo.
Tupelo still has one full service gas station. It's owned and operated by Elvis's cousin. There are some pics of Elvis and the gas station cousin inside.
When MS still had a car inspection program. The gas station was the go to place to get a sticker. He didn't even look at the car

ETA: years ago when I was brand new with my company we used to stay in a hotel about a mile from Graceland, an older flight attendant was telling us how she’d gotten into Graceland on a layover, she finished her story by saying Elvis was a lousy lay and she did all of the work, I asked her why should he care about being good in bed, he’s got women like you literally begging to come into his house and frick him

I used to work with a lady whose father was the head concierge at one of the fancy New Orleans hotels from the late 40’s through the early 70’s. Anytime someone really famous was coming to stay, he’d let her skip school and go to work with him for a chance to meet them. She met Elvis, the Beatles, and a bunch of other music and movie stars from back in the day. I asked her if she got a nice autograph collection. She said she never asked for autographs because she didn’t want to push her luck and get anyone upset at her old man. Imagine how much $$$ it would have been worth!
In May 1955 Elvis played at BRHS. So I can say I was on the same stage as Elvis (just 42 years apart).
A long time ago the wifey (no pics) stayed at the Andrew Jackson hotel in NO for a couple of nights for our anniversary. Next door was the Cornstalk Inn, where Elvis apparently stayed while making King Creole.

Yep. We both liked peanut butter sandwiches.
I know, fascinating huh.

Actually, he played a show at BRHS opening for Buddy Holly..our very own Buckskin Bill playing stand up bass. Told this by Buckskin at a party one afternoon.

Not Elvis per se.
But I have had some great interactions with a few people who were close to him. The late GK, George Klein for one. Bernard Lansky was another.

My aunt worked at the va hospital in Memphis when Elvis entered the service. filled out the papers on him. Reporters taking photos asked him to move closer to her. He said ,"Easy, guys. This is a married lady".

I hate to break this to you, but Buckskin Bill was messing with you.
Elvis’ bass player WAS a guy named Bill Black…but it was THIS guy, not Buckskin.

My mother was visiting some relatives in Memphis where she met Red West, one of Elvis’ best friends who was part of his inner squad the Memphis Mafia.
Long story short, Red wanted to introduce my mom to Elvis but she wasn’t interested…
. This was way before Elvis got famous while he was still in high school.

My mom was at Graceland when Elvis’s stamp came out. My Aunt paid good money to be there.

I used to know an old man named Frank who ran an illegal gambling joint in Memphis. One guy who frequented the establishment was Elvis's manager (I think) early on. Frank would set up games occasionally that Elvis would play in. He arranged a couple games at Elvis's home at the time, not Graceland I don't think.
He would tell stories of those times often. His wife corroborated most of what he said, so I believed him.

When Elvis would come into Shreveport for a show, he would get my aunt's dad to drive him to Mansfield and do some putang hunting. Don't know if he had a particular girl there or what. He could have had any girl he wanted at the hay ride. Maybe he was protecting his image.
Congrats, your Uncle was out helping Elvis look for 14 yr old children to have sex with. Probably bc Elvis knew your uncle was also into little girls, and wouldn’t judge him

I do inspections at Municipal Auditorium every year and I make it a point to drop a deuce in Elvis's dressing room bathroom.

Best I have is a second-hand story…
Went to a distant cousin’s wedding out in California and ended up spending time talking to an older woman who was friends with my cousin’s mother. An offhand Elvis comment by myself triggered her to start ranting about how sweet he was and what a sack of shite Colonel Parker was.
I find out much later that the woman was not only an actress but had been in Paradise Hawaiian Style with Elvis. She also turned out to have been in the original pilot of Star Trek, “The Cage” and was a hottie when younger, so it was a weird chance encounter from a pop culture perspective.
Edit - Upon research, she wasn’t in The Cage but, instead, The Menagerie which was the episode constructed around pieces of The Cage. Given the convoluted history of both episodes, I’m not surprised I got mixed up.
