I've been in the oil business for 12 years. It would require more than 500k/yr to get me back out there.
Not kidding.
Good luck.

Commuting to UTPB. I heard as far as Odessa goes, Faudree is the place to be.
Country crest looks pretty nice and might be a bit more in my price range. I was thinking East of the school would be best from the limited research I’ve done.

I’ve never lived there, but have been there and made enough hotel stays to know I’d rather live in Midland.
Water ain’t great…but it’s a hell of a lot better than the tap water in Snyder and Seminole.

Midland sucks, but Odessa sucks a lot worse. The drive from Midland to Odessa isn't bad at all. 6 months will fill like 6 years.

I'm not moving to Odessa, but thanks for the ideas on next road trip

You better like dust and lots of it. I worked there for 7 years. There's money to be made there and that's the only positive. I'd never move there. I'm in East Texas now.

Any chance to make it work in Midland? Youd enjoy life more.

I spent a summer in Iraan, TX it's 80 miles south of Odessa, couldn't wait to get the hell out of that shite hole.
That was several years back.

i stayed in those for about 6 months.
really had no complaints about them and should have stayed there instead of “upgrading” to some about a mile away that turned out to be a disaster.
several options with Country Crest, and never have an upstairs neighbor.
pretty good pricing compared to rest of that area.
close to all the restaurants, very close to UTPB.
you should get two covered parking spots with your apartment there (that’s a HUGE bonus out here).
they don’t have a laundromat on site, but think every apartment has the hookups to put a washer and dryer in the unit.
if temporary can find a cheap used set, or a low budget rent to own type deal pretty easy.

Yeah it’s not great. Just like any other smallish suburban type town in Texas with chain restaurants. But if it’s just for 6 months you’ll survive, and at least there’s very little humidity.
