It seems like every week there is some new protest or demonstration of some kind.

Yes, but at some point it just becomes noise because every group is protesting something. Seems like more than ever before due to the rise of social media.

It’s so much easier to organize large groups of people now.

That doesn't make them any less tiresome. Have you ever heard the fable of the boy crying wolf? You protest every single thing you disagree with and protests become ineffective.

and i guess i dont get the issue here. we live in a country that is built on the right to be able to do this. you can think they are going overboard. i personally think its a reaffirmation of how awesome a country we live in when people can go out and organize shite like this on a weekly basis and not have to fear of having their heads cut off

Just to be clear, your words... you think the whole point of this country is that we can protest?

I think you are way off. The "point" is that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

The right to protest is something we take for granted, given many areas around the world, but I think the OP's point is valid... we have a grievance culture, and much of the protesting seems to be almost for the sake of protesting.

i think the whole point of our country is that we have inalienable personal liberties that are bestowed upon us naturally and that the government can not take those away. the right to protest happens to be one of those. you can feel how the OP does that people are going overboard and that they are tiresome to read about. i just disagree

Again, people are disagreeing with the right to protest. Just that it is tiresome and ineffective at enacting change. The protests that have been effective in this country's history have involved action. All of the ones now are just a bunch of fanatics (on both sides) just screaming a bunch of babble. It's unhealthy and ineffective.

Screaming on the damn internet does no one any good. If you really believe in something you have to be willing to give something up to get change. Going out on the street and calling every one you disagree with racist, sexist, racist, et all is not giving something up.

The overwhelming majority of the world allows protests. The right to protest is absolutely not something America has a monopoly on.

People displaying mass ignorance regularly isn’t something that should be championed. Allowed? Sure. But I give no respect to it.

and i just disagree cause being able to protest at all is a pretty insane thing that most people havent been able to do throughout human history. that alone, to me, makes these things not tiresome. but thats just my own opinion
