I like geography hunting, but I use to do this with a globe.

An old co-worker who moved to South Florida, her neighbor saw something on google maps in the pond behind their house. After notifying authorities, it was discovered it was a car and it's been there over 20 years. This just happened yesterday! Pretty crazy.

I absolutely LOVE doing this, but I don’t do it with geography, I do it with WWII (and other wars) stuff... I love looking at old battlefields and old war structures... going to Normandy and looking at the beaches on google earth’s street view is a pretty sobering experience when you put yourself in the boots of the men who landed there on d-day


If anyone has any cool WWII shite from google earth that they’d like to share with me, I’d grately appreciate it

If you look around northern France you can still see the remnants of WWI forts.
