Let's see...
MIL decided to wake up with the toddler while we slept in.
I made appetizers (street corn deviled eggs from a food board thread), while she napped.
We had a huge meal.
Played lots of games.
Decorated for Christmas.
Really can't think of a better day I've had in a long time.

I intentionally didn’t go so I guess I caused some.

No...because none of my relatives invited me. Ate at Piccadilly by myself and went to work.

That's why you do the big get together 2 weeks early. Then just have to deal with your/her parents when they come over for various types of lasagna, salad, and garlic bread. I made an appearance at the table and then disappeared to watch football the rest of the day. Couldn't imagine a better way to end it than watching that jackass disrespect Davis Wade in front of an official and then seeing the PAT barely miss.

Nope. My family (both sides) stopped doing the Thanksgiving thing years ago. Really has more to do with divorces, people moving away, people passing away and people getting older.

I’m as trashy as the next person but this has literally never happened and I come from a divorced family so I spent Thanksgiving bouncing back and forth to multiple places. Everyone is too hungry to cause a scene and miss out on the food. If they wanted to start shite they could just do it on Saturday.

I hear about this happening to families all the time. My family enjoys their day off and ability to get trashed without worrying about work the next day. Also, having food all over the place is another good thing. If anyone in my family acted like that, id want a new family.

Thanksgiving is always easy going and fun. It be the family reunious and funerals/graduations where shite hits the fan.
That's because those family members who know they dont get along with so-and-so know how to avoid said person usually. At the bigger family gatherings it is harder to avoid people.

No but I don’t associate with trashy people

Conspicuous placement by my aunt and uncle of 4 copies of this one book in various strategic locations throughout their farmhouse....our annual Thanksgiving hangout. Intended target: me and my MAGA family.

That’s one way to win them over.
