Worked for a guy whose wife is bipolar.
I think he dealt w it by being a workaholic. In less than a year the guy had grown his business to 5 x its original size all in different cities, entered a PhD program, and won a spot on the state board. Sometimes I wonder how he can live the way he does, then he starts talking about what he deals w at home and it makes sense. I couldn't imagine

First off, that’s not how a bipolar person acts. A bipolar person has long periods (years) of depression to near normal mood levels with short periods (weeks to months) of mania with no or decreased sleep, spending extravagantly, hyper sexual, risk taking behavior. Then back to depression or dysthymia (minor depression).

What you’re describing sounds like a moody woman. And the cure for that is:

quote:

you frick her

My wife sounds like your “friends” wife. If I keep Mrs perch good and fricked, everybody’s life is better.

This isn't bipolar; it's just being a woman

Well, I dealt with one for a while.

My advice: If she's truly bipolar, she needs to see a doctor because medication can make a huge difference in both her quality of life and her significant other's. If she refuses, then she can go be someone else's problem.

There is a type of bipolar disorder called "rapid cycling" that entails multiple cycles within a 12 month span.

If she is truly diagnosed as bi-polar then you should visit with her therapist to learn how to work with her

If you are just using that term to describe unpredictable behavior- then I suggest you get a deer or fishing camp to go to.

That's not bipolar. That's just a miserable person and your friend is probably a contributing factor to this.

She'll be a completely different person with her next husband.

Uh a lot of people? Occasional moodiness doesn't mean bipolar. It's like when people say they're OCD because the door is halfway cracked.
