Well, yes, that would certainly qualify, but if one thinks of it in terms of a person chronically consuming candy/sugar well in excess of recommended "doses," despite being fully aware of the extent of the damage it causes....that's probably textbook addiction.
Unfortunately I'm addicted. When there's no one else to turn to, my old friend candy is always there.

I like chocolate every once in awhile but it’s not my DOC. I go straight for the hot tamales and anything sour.
