Just curious if anyone has gotten or knows someone that has gotten a check that shouldn't qualify.
Curious how that is going to be handled.

I'm sure anyone who doesn't qualify that gets money will be honest and return it.

Probably best to just mind your own business on this one.

I got the exact amount applied for for the PPP for both my businesses.
Now, lets see how this goes at the end of the 8 weeks for the forgiveness part.

If someone has already received an individual payment that didn't actually qualify they either:
1. Committed tax fraud by illegally lowering their AGI and/or falsifying children w/ SSN
2. Benefited from a coding error on the IRS computers since those that would have received checks to date e-filed and had direct deposit information on-file.
I'm willing to bet if you know someone who "made more than $75k or $150k (mfj)" that got a $1200/$2400 check, their AGI was below those thresholds.

Have any of y’all got it yet? I haven’t

So if I receive a $1200 check because my AGI was less than $100K in 2018(last time I filed) but make more than $100K in 2020 I won’t have to pay it back?

FEMA needs to be just one honest man with a checkbook

If your AGI is >$100k in 2020 you will not have to pay back the credit received.

Just like any government handout, I'm sure they'll be massive abuse.

quote:that is correct. People who qualify in 2020, but don't qualify now (based on 2018/2019) will be made whole in 2021. But the opposite of that get to keep the money.
