You really deserve a high price for checking out every Honda baw in the state . The difference between $500-2000 more in price is not a huge monthly note difference. How much down? Just buy it and stop playing games. God forbid if you ever eat at a restaurant with Market Pricing listed next to the Seafood

Oh you don't want the extended warranty. Let me make you sign 15 papers acknowledging that you declined the warranty. And then with one last attempt to sell the warranty to me, the dude literally unrolls a 32" long scroll of "everything the warranty covers" and asks me to sign it as well

Last vehicle I bought the finance guy was getting pissed that I said I didn't want to buy any of those extra things. He kept pushing and I said "no". He whipped out the extended warranty scroll, etching on the glass to save on my insurance, etc. and I wrote in big letters "I DONT WANT THIS shite" on all of the ones he put in front of me

You sound like the dipshit at Team when I was negotiating a price for a 2001 Civic. He told me "yea the dealer on the West Bank of Nola may be 500 less but that's way down in new orleans."

I said that will cost me about $4 in gas and 2 hours to save $500. Goodbye.
He felt stupid and gave me the $500 off.

It pisses me off when they try to start showing the figures in terms of monthly payment vs total price. Is that really how most people buy a car? By walking in & saying, “I want to pay $500/mo. What’ve you got?”

I don’t care if $1000 is only a few extra dollars on the note. It’s $1000.

He wasn't a salesman, dude sounds like an order taker. You have to be willing to walk away from a customer. I'd have let you go player. It's also good for the dealership to have enticements like guaranteed loaner program etc. to keep you from going to said other dealership. This means I would let you drive a similar vehicle if your vehicle required more than a day of service etc.

Certain customers arent worth the hassle because "said" customer will be a dick always.

Brought four cars from Team and would again. Yes the finance guy tries to upsell you but if you tell the dude no, they typically get the paperwork signed and out the door.

If you are a Costco member, they have a car buying service. They had a dealer from the Nola area call me with a deal 3-4K under msrp.

Is that really how most people buy a car?

People don't buy cars like paying for groceries at Rouses. They finance over 60-72 months sometimes even 80. These F-250 OT folks are lying if they say monthly note didn't seal the deal. Mind you the monthly note changes based on price of vehicle but money down is key 9/10 times. There is an actual bottom line on a vehicle. Geez people want it for free sometimes it seemed like.

I got out the industry but I learned some good sales techniques along the way. O and most people are dumb as rocks: Rich, Poor etc. I dont know how some folks make it.

You loose faith in humanity working at a dealership.

Had cash but got 0.9 interest for 60 months and took that because of an extra 500 off. I drove an hour and saved thousands, yet I'm playing games?

Big reason I keep putting off buying a new car. I walk in knowing what I want and tell them up front I will pay with cash, no trade in. Give me your best price, no games. First thing they ask for driver Lic to lose for a couple hours. Happen twice. All car sale people need a kick in the nuts once a day for knowing they playing a game people don't want to play.
