It would take 20 seconds to swap out the nato strap and you can buy various 6 packs of them on amazon nowadays for 15.00.

for five grand I would hope you can switch out the bands because that green one is hideous

I'm not sure about others but I wouldn't be putting a $2.50 strap on a $5000 watch.

Looks expensive.
I just bought a new Timex at the WalMart.

Note that one is the last generation with the 8500 movement, the new one is not available on steel. You may be able to find one still hanging around new. It was more expensive due to the bracelet and normal discount had them at about $5k.

I like it with the metal band. I've had my eye on this watch for quite a while.

Hey, do any of you watch experts know where to buy a nice leather band on line or in person? Thanks!

If I had the cash and could choose one Omega model it would be the Speedmaster.

I hate the super cheap NATOs because they feel terrible, you can find decent ones in the 15-30 range. The Omega signed versions are very nice (so are the Tudor ones) but run about $150.

Nothing wrong with the Aqua Terra, I am a fan of the 8900 movement. That said I unless you really want the green adorned Garcia version then I would suggest getting one with the bracelet and wearing it on NATO or leather from time to time. This is especially true if you don't have at least 3-4 watches in rotation.

Watches are kinda silly?
Your money, though. If you think it'll make ya happy, go for it. Lord knows I spend my own paper on a variety of stuff others probably think is stupid, too, so far be it for me to judge

Well of course, you can get more expensive ones but having owned a ton of natos and every other type of strap, bracelet, etc. in my life, there isn’t much difference at all between the 6 pack of straps and a 50.00 nato. Not near enough difference to warrant the extra money. I sold all of my natos a few years ago and decided a few weeks ago I wanted to put my Seiko SKX007 back on a nato. Started looking and found the packs on amazon so gave them a shot. I wouldn’t hesitate for one minute to put my Rolex or Omega on one of these straps. They are made just fine.

I buy many of mine from Panatime, from a cost-quality perspective I like Hadley Roma bands.
I assume you are looking for a band for a dressy watch, if not and looking for a band for a more sporty watch I really like some of the ones I have bought off eBay from Vietnam, they are hand made and many of the dealers customize them if you want. I usually get them without any holes punched and punch a single one where I need it, it makes the strap look a lot cleaner. Leather punches are cheap.
