Worked for them as a dock operator at Valero for about a year. Good company to work for.

Seems like a good company. Thought I heard something about the parent company wanting to sell them or something.
One of the former top dogs at PSC has started a competing company recently

Been around since 1952. Purchased by SGS in 2004 for around $60M. Sold from SGS to Aurora Capital in June 2019 for $335M. Solid company with good pay and benefits. Many field level employees just work there long enough to get hired on at a plant as an operator, so it is a good starting place in the industry.

Don’t know about their pay or benefits but they seem to be a stepping stone job for guys doing PTech school hoping to be hired as an operator.

Lot of baws have gone the SGS route to get hired in directly to the plant/refinery. Never see those dudes driving shitty trucks either so thatll tell ya something

Easy stepping stone to get on at the plant you want

When? I worked there for SGS about 2 years ago. Was part of the initial startup crew.

Only been around people dockmen and tankermen.
Haven’t heard of them complaining about pay or anything. Sometimes over worked due to limited man power. That’s probably been the only negative I’ve constantly heard.
Hopefully you’ll get placed at a plant and stay long enough to make contacts and get your foot in the hiring process for an operator.

Feb to Nov of 17. Got hired as a rail car loader but moved over to the docks.

Worked for them for 7 years. Great company to work for. Easy to move up quick if you have any sense at all. I started green outta retail with them loading railcars and 18 wheelers, and became a foreman within 2 years. Easy upward mobility if you got the drive. I could have left the company earlier in my career but was holding out for a certain Monday-Friday position I wanted. I'm now hired on with the Company and still work closely with PSC.
