For burgers, Stock and Barrel is fantastic.
I thought the city was nice, but lacking a bit in charm. Yes, the Market Square area definitely has it, but otherwise it was pretty vanilla.
The stadium is on the river, which is cool, but it's really ugly and I can't figure out what the pregame scene is like there. Do people just drink on the side of the road in cars? Do they pregame at campus and then come over for the game? Not everyone has a boat.

The west side is growing. They are adding lanes to Pellissippi northbound to handle the traffic getting on at Dutchtown and getting off at Lovell.
They need it. I was going to a homebrew club meeting at the Hardin Valley Casual Pint on Tuesday evening and the traffic exiting Hardin Valley was backed up almost all the way to Lovell.

Saying west Knox is growing is like saying water is wet. It felt cramped to me in the 90s and it’s so much worse now.

And yet the traffic is still nothing compared to Baton Rouge.

The school sells season parking passes for the parking lots around the Ag School and has shuttles that run to/from the stadium. There is some tailgating there.
There is also a good bit of tailgating in World's Fair Park, which isn't that far of a walk to the stadium.

I'll probably try to take my boy out to a tailgate later this year. Most likely UAB @ UT on LSU's second bye week. I want to check it out at some point, but when it's cooler and I'm not going to miss an LSU game.
We will all be wearing purple and gold, of course.

I don't live in Knoxville, but have gone to 2 different FullService BBQ locations (one nearest Neyland to grab BBQ before the LSU game) and the one leaving Knoxville on the NW end on/just off 75, and the brisket was frigging excellent. I do know BBQ. It is as good or better than the best brisket in ATL.
