This is exactly what I do. Works 60% of the time every time.

I got one of the best Jobs that I ever landed with "The Binder". ....Comprehensive territory plan, proof of past successes and letters of recommendation.....I left it behind to differentiate myself from the other idiots who showed up with a copy of their resume.
You guys make fun of O for doing this when it obviously worked for him, and it definitely worked for me. As a boss, don't you want the guy who put in extra effort and thought...or do you want the other guy who is a clone of the rest?

Binder? No but I do know their earnings results and what ever other data I can get my hands on.
I have my own firm now, but the last job I interviewed for it was with the CFO of a public company and I listened to several earnings calls as prep, had a good idea for a plan to solve one of their long running issues (as brought out in the calls) and walked out with the position (VP of Corporate Development).
Being over prepared for an interview is always a good thing.

I have brought a folder/binder to an interview with a 30/60/90 and yearly plan. Of course it requires you to ask questions ahead of the interview. It also requires you to have the experience and ability to do that. It does impress the interviewers especially if you are deaf on in what they are wanting to see.

One of the weirdest interviews I have encountered was a job candidate bringing in a binder full of prepared answers.
Each question asked to him would be followed by 5-10 seconds of him rifling through the binder until he landed on the appropriate page. He would then read almost from a script.
The binder wasn't for employer review, it was for him to answer questions. It just came off as weird.

I'm a former HS coach and can tell you O is not the first FB coach to bring a binder to an interview.
I interviewed 5 FB coaches for an HC position and all of them had binders filled with program philosphies, play calling styles, and Summer workout plans.
The one who was hired included an in depth 3 year plan including fundraising, specific player development, and coaching staff progressions.
