Download an app that plays binaural beats at the rate for sleep and get comfortable ear buds or earphones that you can lay down wearing.
There are also Youtube videos that will play for 9 or more hours.
Swear it works most of the time. Have to use earphones though because different wavelengths are going into each ear.
The calming effect is very noticeable and I believe it is scientifically confirmed.

A stiff bourbon also helps (but not too much or it will frick up your sleep later in the night)

Benadryl is an anticholinergic drug,Harvard Health had reported a study linking chronic antichloinergic drug use to dementia.
Look it up.

Friend of mine took Tylenol PM for years to sleep, developed Alzheimer’s at 58.

Yes.

I have no trouble going to sleep. I have trouble going back to sleep if (when) I wake in the night.

Ambien seems to be a perfect match for my needs. Always a great night’s sleep.

I'm 42 and never had trouble falling asleep. My wife claims I'm out as soon as my head hits the pillow. It's mostly true.

I'm a little older than you and it wasn't until a year or two ago that I started having problems getting to sleep and staying asleep. A little melatonin helps but you can kind of become dependent on it.

There's so many better options to consistently getting a good night's sleep than popping a pill.

The science and studies prove it out.

Read this book: Why We Sleep

Or listen to this podcast with the author: Podcast

Just know that booze, weed, and pills all can block you from getting the deep sleep you need and therefore advances aging.

Yes, and I have for my entire life. Lunesta is so-so but gives me an unbearable metallic taste in my mouth to the point where it’s not worth taking. Last time I took ambien I fell off a deck and woke up in the yard thinking I’d broken my leg. I’ve taken every supplement/otc remedy known to man. Just bought 120 seroquel off the street last week. Wouldn’t wish sleep problems on anyone.

I wake up at 3am every day and work my butt off all day. When I lay my head down it’s lights out within 3 minutes.

Exercise
Lower coffee
Read book
Take a shower or bath
Dumb lights
Steam room or sauna
This is hard for normal people who aren't rich

I have no answer

Get relaxed

I'm not the OP, nor have sleeping problems, but, I decided to read a book one night to go to bed and, ended up up reading it all by morning. If someone finds a good book, it may not work. The next day sucked.

Eta: I love reading though.

I don’t have any trouble getting to sleep at present, but I find that 90% of the time when you have insomnia, it is because you can’t turn off your mind…do whatever it takes to get your mind to shut down, and you will sleep. You may need some counseling or you may need to simplify your life. Do whatever it takes.

You can get just about any doctor to write you a script for seroquel man, you don’t have to find it in the streets

Ambien is a wonder drug for me, but I rarely take it. I do take Benadryl every night.
