been doing this for 17 years and I've never heard of this pec. Guy is looking for some 48" .500 in A691 Gr 2-1/4. I googled it,but basically got definitions.

Anyone familiar with and/or knows who may stock it?

That sounds like 2-1/4 chrome pipe. I believe it is specifically chrome pipe formed by rolling plate and welding the seam.

*Edit - It's unlikely that any vendors will stock something like that. I would imagine they would get it special ordered from the mill. Cunado, Whitco, or Diamond Oilfield Supply should be able to get you a price on it.

I work in the industry and I'm pretty sure Alloy 691 is a chrome molly... I've never heard of it though. Maybe try US Metals? But I'm not sure anyone is going to have 48" pipe in an exotic alloy such as that on the shelf. May need to have it rolled and welded from plate?? Good luck sir!

EDIT - Try Mach Industrial in Houston and ask them to quote complete. My best guess.

thanks. I'm waiting to hear from US Metals. Some of these pipe suppliers list A691 on their website but don't move it.

Oh,this same guy wants some 48" XH 90s in A672. My phone is ringing off the hook with suppliers wanting to quote that.

You nailed it. Never did I think we’d have a PVF thread that turned into a rolled & welded plate thread!

the slow times bring out all the BS engineering bids!!

I don't think anyone is going to bid that (outside of a WAG) given the OD and wt.
It will be so expensive they will make a design change anyway.
