All the men in my family tend to snore. I used to as well when I was just out of college. Lost 10-15 lbs and I haven't snored in 10 yrs.

My mom is a crazy good athlete, skinny, and in an excellent shape.
And that lady has snored louder than a fat lumberjack her entire life.

Sleep on your side rather than on your back, works for me.

Yeah I'll snore on my back but that's it. Wife just kicks me and I roll over.
And I'm definitely not fat. I just take sleeping pills which causes it I think.

Looks goofy as hell and awkward at first but you will realize how shitty you were sleeping the first night you use it.
Some of the worst nights of sleep I ever got were in the first week or two of using a CPAP. It gave me a sense of drowning at times. After I adjusted I began to notice that I was sleeping worse when I forgot to put it on at night.

I got one of the mouthpieces from my dentist. It pushes your lower jaw forward and it has done miracles for me. My mom has sleep apnea and she tried the mouthpiece and it didnt work for her, so it's not for everyone.
And the people that say its because your overweight are straight up dumb. I'm in pretty good shape and have been all my life but I've suffered from sleep apnea/bad snoring since I was young.

Anyone here have a cure for snoring that works?
Go to sleep after she does is the easiest way.

Lose weight
This.
When I gained a ton of weight, my snoring was out of control.
Lost the weight, the snoring went away.

Roll onto your side.

I lost 25 lbs and stopped snoring. I feel great now. Hardly even toss and turn

I'm in great shape and nothing has ever worked for me. I've tried everything but surgery. Other family members with the same problem have had surgeries and it didn't help. Tell your wife to get some earplugs.

I had an extra set of ear plugs from when I was in the field, and my ex used to keep them on the nightstand. Once we said goodnight, turned over, she'd throw those suckers in and a freight train couldn't wake her up

The problem is that snoring can have two main causes. The far and away most common cause is excess belly fat. That said, a small number of thin people snore, however, because of a nose issue (like their nose was broken or they have a deviated septum, etc.) that restricts airflow and would require surgery to fix.
Statistical odds are that you have the belly fat issue. To solve this:
Short term: sleep on your side, not your back
Long term: lose your belly fat

I got fitted for the dental mouth piece last week. I can't wait for it to come in.

I have sleep apnea. Was suckered in to getting a cpap last fall and absolutely hate it. I have never kept it on for more than 4 hours. I have given up on it. I've since been reading up on the UPPP surgery and am going to try to get it this summer.
1. 18 inch neck
2. not fat, just lots of muscle mass and a slight beer gut.
3. doc said my case had nothing to do with my weight. something about my septum and smaller throat size in relation to my neck.
